RGB Linear Prototyping PCB - WIP
« on: Thu, 13 October 2016, 22:42:45 »
I needed something to do while I waited for my Vision/Division metal... So I came up with this.

This is a RGB LED compatible linear PCB geared toward the prototype / hand-wire builder. The switches and RGB LEDs are all wired up, but they aren't wired to a dedicated MCU board.

It uses SK6812 RGB or RGBW LEDs and is intended to work with Gateron RGB switches. LEDs are mounted on the bottom of the PCB but shine up into the switch. It has a large prototyping area to add in a MCU board like a Pro Micro or a Teensy.

It supports Alps and Cherry switches. (It may not look like it from the picture, but the switch holes are actually slots.)

It is 6x16, but it can be cut to 4x12, 5x12, or 5x15, or any combo. It can even be cut in half. The prototyping area can be cut off, too.

It supports 2U switches on many of the keys.

It's mostly done. I just need to get the coupons I ordered to verify that the PCB vendor's process can handle the cutouts. (See this post.)
