I've been using a Keytronics 3600QL for the last few years since my old Kensington ergo went out (if anyone remembers those).  I... guess I like the Keytronics' feel, but maybe I'm just used to it.  I know I won't be weirded out by the variable weights because this one has it, too.  I'm more concerned that the 35-45g won't be enough to suit my tastes, since this Keytronics uses 35-80g iirc.  On the other hand, I've also used a Unicomp BS board that I didn't particularly like because it was a bit too firm.  But I think some of that was not liking that really springy, crisp tactile dropoff that a lot of people seem to love.

What does everyone here think? Will I prefer the constant 55g, or the 35-55g?

I have both side by side at work, still can't choose a clear winner after 1 week of going back and forth (as well as trying one on each hand typing at same time)

One thing for sure, they are both fantastic.  I have increased 10wpm since getting Topre boards.

Do you feel you can tell the difference?  I mean, I can with my Keytronics, but there's a much larger delta between keys.  Besides the esc key, there's only 10g delta on the Realforce.

If you can tell the difference, and you just can't decide which suits you, can you explain them a bit?  Do you bottom out easily, and does the 55g help much in that regard?  Is there any difference in fatigue?  Have you used a Filco or other with browns to throw into the comparison?

I'm thinking I'll pick up a Realforce and Filco brown tenkeyless at the same time, and whichever I prefer will stay at home, while the other will find itself on my Thinkpad's dock at work.

Are you planning on keeping both those Topres once you decide which you prefer? :biggrin1:
