[IC]1983 SP - SA/DSA
« on: Mon, 17 October 2016, 16:42:14 »
Hey everyone! I would like to share with you a labor of love that I've created the past 3 weeks.

1983 Keyset done in either SA or DSA.

I've been in love with 1976 for the past few months, so much so that I wanted to create a keyset, and colorway from my era...the 80's.

I would like your guys thoughts/opinions on this, I have completely fallen in love with this and I am really hoping you all will as well :) Thanks for looking.

PLEASE TAKE MY POLL FOR KEYCAP PREFERENCE =)

I like that a lot actually. Mito's got his Lazer set set he's working on though so not sure how many 80s themed sets I have room for in my life but still, this does look awesome!

This is pretty rad dude. I think i would prefer DSA on this one. I'm not crazy about the font though as it seems way too big on the modifier keys.

Also I'm down for SA. I know the backlog, but with all these DSA interest checks lately it's a matter of time before DSA has a long backlog too.  That is if most go to the GB stage.

Then we just shift to GMK and fill up their slots before making the rounds back to another profile.  Hopefully some other makers decide they want to get in on the action and we get another couple of players in the mix.

edit: looks like Devlin's getting into the mix via UK Keycaps with a buy for their DSA-like caps.

I'd normally be fine with other profiles, but I think this set needs SA for the retro look

I really love the concept and would be onboard for sure. I feel like a different color should be chosen for the base/right side of the board. The black just seems a little too dark for the retro 80's theme.

Possibly even keep the black but make the legends the same color as the blue, or the pink?

I really want SA. I'm going to push for SA as hard as I can. I know the majority of people have voted DSA - but to retain the homage to the 76 set, it has to be SA.

Fingers crossed it can get in!

This initial interest check will not be the final rendition. I am currently designing all the accompanying compatibility sets - Small changes such as font sizes will be made.
I like it!
Thank you!

You have room for all of them :P but does your bank? haha

I'm trying out pink/green. As cyan (blue) has already been used SOOOO MUCH i didn't want that ontop of grey

Technically if you take the SA votes for both uniform and sculpted, they beat DSA.  ;)

Why take a poll if you're just going to do what you prefer, then? Not saying you shouldn't; it's your keyset after all. Just seems you wanted to be sure SA was the way to go.

In other news, when are you going to make SA 1991?! I was born in the 80s, but I'm more of a 90s child.  :p

Oh man, my eyes!  My eyes!

I like it.  It has that neon 80s vibe to it that seems missing form other 80s stuff.

Glad to see DSA winning, it happens to be the only profile I can use out of the 3 listed.

C'mon this HAS to be in SA.  There are a ton of DSA buys active and around the corner.

What I want to know the distinction between the choice for the last number. Why 6 for 1976 and why 3 for 1983? These are the questions that need answers. :p

That's just the poster image.  If you scroll down on one of the option pages (or the front page) you'll see the legends
