What's your opinion about Cherry Mxboard 8.0&9.0

What's your opinion about Mxboard 8.0&9.0?Anyone has any info of this two keyboards?
I personaly think 9.0 is not "real" cherry keyboard,I've already have 3000&3494&11900&1800.But I dont like this one.
8.0 is good, perfect shape, slimmer then every mechanical keyboard i've seen.Double Shot keycaps.
This is 9.0,Full Rgb backlits with 17 independent programmable keys.

This one is 8.0,Full aluminum frame and white backlits.

That TKL looks very solid. Supposed to weigh almost 1kg - finally a chunky keyboard from Cherry. Really curious about the price as well. Haven't seen anything that solid from them before.

The 9.0 makes me want to vomit. The 8.0 would be a board I would highly consider; the design is minimalistic and clean. Just needs some new keycaps.

Edit: Looking at the 8.0 again it reminds me of the Apple Keyboard but mechanical.

Thanks very much. Pretty much what I was afraid of, was hoping more for something in the region of 120-150€
Hopefully they will also sell that without the aluminium carry case for cheaper.

222$ is close to what I expect a UNIQEY TKL to cost - with GMK doubleshots. Tough competition!

Machining is expensive.

I'd be interested in that 8.0.  It's a nice design.  Not really a fan of white keycaps but I never use stock caps anyway.  And $220 seems fair.

9.0 makes me want to gouge my eyes out.   :'(

How did they go from the glorious 1800 to this??

Gamers are both the best AND worst thing to happen to mechanical keyboards.  :blank:

Let's not talk about the 9.0 for obvious reasons, okay?

The 8.0 is meh but could be worse, I'd love to know what the extra part at the back of the board is used for.

I saw in Cherry's data sheet that the MX Board 8.0 has double-shot keycaps. They are back!
Too bad about he font though ... and the symbols ...

The 8.0 is meh but could be worse, I'd love to know what the extra part at the back of the board is used for.
1. It makes it look like the "Apple Wireless Keyboard" ... even though the tube is only hollow. No batteries, not wireless. The endcaps are only ornamental.
2. It is most likely a kickstand. You would rotate the cylinder and a long stand flips down.
I have a Lenovo Yoga Tab tablet, which is where Cherry must have got the idea from. This is a promo pic from Lenovo's web site (not my tablet):
150749-0

Cherry's foot does not look as if it is as high though.

TKL look interesting. is gonna be available in europe?
Only US-ANSI layout and Cherry MX Red switch announced officially so far.

The 8.0 doesn't have a removable cable, which is an idiotic thing. And the cable is on the left, which is very annoying and different from the g80-3000/1800 etc.

The g80-1800 layout is way superior to the tkl, and is only 1cm wider... And you have all the keys...

The rounded, cylindrical part of the 8.0 is bulky, I don't understand why it expands beyond the top row, making it too big. You could have accomplished exactly the same with lateral hinges, with the same design.

That font, is horrible.

It's not idiotic if you want reliability.

All you children and your colorful cables from Michaels that demand a detachable hub are making our keyboards less reliable.

I've never had problems with usb ports, but I've seen the failure of a number of fixed - non replaceable cables.

Have fun typing on your phone / tablet with a two metre long cable.

Removable cables are overrated.

Removable cables make it easier to transport a keyboard.

When you replace the case you can change the colour of the cable accordingly.

You can use a cable angled by 90 degrees if you have some space requirements.

The 8 would definitely be a pickup at $150 or less. I wonder why they went for the aluminum box - it's fancy, but probably ups the cost a good amount.
I typed this post on my Slanck. I also developed a stronger, cleaner, easier handwiring method.

I will upload some Official Videos in some days later.

MX BOARD 9.0 is the 1st one MX RGB keyboard by Cherry herself.
MX BOARD 8.0 maybe is the 1st one customized standard for mass production MX keyboard.

All these two keyboard will be sold in China at first because there are more gaming end users here.
I think that would be later in some other countries depend on Cherry's decision. :)

2015, MX BOARD 6.0
2013, MX BOARD 3.0
2012, MX BOARD 2.0
Which year is the previous model number for the Cherry keyboard?
I don't know, maybe it's before the year 2000.

Please forget the Cherry old keyboard.
Cherry is tooooo late for the new keyboard.
So I think the MX 8.0 and 9.0 are the high hopes for them. :thumb:

The Cherry did the design for the removable cables but for the patent reason and urgent launching time.
So the cable is now.
There are some modular idea for this keyboard in one year later maybe. They could assemble the number keyboard on it.

At least the "Apple" keyboard is not black-anodized brushed aluminium - or a plastic lookalike,
or gloss black plastic with blue LEDs.
