Zealio switches : 65g or 78g ?
« on: Fri, 21 October 2016, 15:59:51 »
Hey guys,

I just joined the Infinity Keyboard drop on massdrop. I already have boards with MX Clear, Matias Quiet Click and Matias Click, so I decided to go for Zealio switches this time around. However I'm still unsure which weight to choose between 65g and 78g. How would you describe the feel of both ? Which would you consider to be more tactile and which do you prefer ?

Thank you !

Well, it's lighter than a stock MX Clear (from what I understands, 78g is the force to bottom out, not the actuation force), and I do have a heavy typing style, so I'm not exactly afraid of a heavier switch. I'm rather looking for new sensations :)

My s-60x board has (round 3) 67g alphas and 78g modifiers... i know i'll catch flak from purists for saying it but I don't think you can tell the difference. I would get the 78g as the Zealios feel lighter than expected.

The 78g (don't know if it's just Round 3 or other rounds) has a messed up force curve, which makes it feel lighter than other Zealios weights. R4 is supposed to correct that.

78g is the perfect weight for a switch.
I love my greens but not for gaming for extended periods at a time. I think 78 might be just what the doctor ordered.
Definitely on the lookout for a new round of Zealio's :D

78g is lighter than stock MX Clear, but still has "damped" post-actuation travel. I like that.

OTOH, 65g makes it a typical very tactile switch, that's easy to bottom out. I don't like bottoming out, sooo…

I love MX clears on the Pok3r and recently built a Whitefox with 67g Zeals. The 67g was too light and bouncy for me. Going with the 78g on the Infinity Drop.
