[IC] GMK Andes Mint(mock up updated 1/4/2017)
« on: Mon, 21 November 2016, 03:23:12 »
Here is my new idea.

I just want to try something new and different, so I use some new colors which have been used before rather than some common colors such as white, grey, yellow, green etc. Though combinations of these colors seem better and harmonious than this set.
Details:
Color for MOD: BR1 & TU2
Color for alpha: BR1&Pantone 317U

the layout is shown below.

The first one is actually a pretty popular colorway, I was using it on a very early project of mine, was a big fan of brown + cyan

The second render loses the perfection, the contrast is lost, the color harmony is lost, this is my opinion

Thanks for your reply and my apologize for my ignorance of your former project. I am planing to try to use Tiffany color for the alpha keys.

Actually, the brown colors for these two figures are same. The difference is resulted from GMK's render and a keyboard fan's render. :)

No actually, it wasn't a keycap project at all, it was a website with a cyan/brown header, I fully support the first render, it's beautiful

icon modifiers are much simpler and more modern. The icon modifiers are more compatible with OEM keyboards.
icon and legend modifiers are much classicer. Lots of CHERRY G80 and some Customize-keyboard will match well with legend modifiers.
frankly speaking, i like both modifiers.
Many people buy GMK for the filco ,ducky ,leopold WASD and other OEM , many prefer to much simple modifers on those keyboards.

am a fan of both but I have keyboard and Co on order so I would prefer if the group buy was for the first one. also would prefer icon + legend mods instead of icon-only

I much prefer the more muted tones of the first render.

Ditto. I already have Keyboard & Co on order and that works with the black mods and the remainder of the set, doesn't seem as appealing here as it is just too much contrast imo - the first render with the muted tones on the other hand is definitely very attractive and easy on the eyes.

Actually, Tiffany is only one possible way and I also want to try 3A and 3B. Maybe I will choose customized color

the color combination with keyboard & co is beautiful to behold, but in my opinion it's strange because the brown color not suitable with the tosca color.

I'm definitely liking the first render more, I like the minty brown look. I think if the alpha base is more beige (can't really tell if it is or not in the renders) then it would look even better!

The colors are different and GMK retro use custom color, so there will be difference between brown colors.

I think the render with white alphas looks a bit better, but dunno, I am open to persuasion. Also have voted in the layout poll.

This set has quite an old school touch and would fit well into an office environment.  :thumb:

These green alphas are hard on my eyes though. I much prefer the white ones from the current OP render.

For me, the white alpha is better as well. Based on MOQ and price consideration, custom color is not a good choice.

Based on the current render, the CP while alpha is better. however , i appreciate that you want to find a charming and comfortably soft and light green for the alpha.
Others'  feedback did really provide you a definite color selection destination for your next plan.
1, modify the current one according to the polls
2, find  a color that you are pursuing for in pantone card
Good luck ,

I found a color from pantone colors and tried to use it as the base color of alpha keys. However, if i use this color, the moq will increased to 250 rather than 150 based on previous GBs.

This is a fabulous color combination.
Now you have chosen custom color from pantone for alpha, then finding a more compatible brownish color in pantone is a better choise ,just my own suggestion.
