Greetings & Happy Click Clacking From MINNESOTA!
« on: Mon, 28 November 2016, 20:17:09 »
Greetings to all!

I've lurked here for a long time and decided that I should throw off my Cloak of Introversion and say hello. I've used this sight heavily to look up old boards and what interesting switches they may have to feed my vintage addiction.

I own many boards, new and vintage. My favorites being the Das Pro 4 with Cherry MX Browns for easy to get mass production boards and for vintage I love the venerated IBM Model M.

Currently I'm restoring a very badly abused Monterey K104 with white Alps. I'm not desoldering the switch base but I am gutting all the switches and cleaning them up. Simply amazing how nice they clean up.

Also, I'm very excited about a craigslist deal I'm stumbled into....4 IBM Model Ms and one 122 key Model F...we will see how this turns out...it's craigslist after all.

I could ramble on and on but will refrain. =)

Welcome! Always great to have more people interested in restoring older boards  :D

You'll have to let us know what comes of that Craigslist lead, sounds like a potentially great haul! I've always wanted to try a big F 122 battlecruiser  :))

Well it's Craigslist so you never know how that will work out, but the seller appears to be motivated. Hoping for a Thursday or Friday morning exchange.

He did say that the Model F is not part of the deal now so that leaves 4 model M's, one that has a RJ45 connector that I will use for parts.
