See the build log here:

I tried to post some resources that may help other people start on this journey.

Thank you for sharing the ebay links! This is perfect timing as I am thinking about building a 60% of my own. The main hurdle stopping me is soldering, but I already do a lot of delicate work building & painting model kits, so I figure it can't be too hard to learn.

Great post! I'm actually using the same case and ordered the same keycaps (chocolatier) for my build, so don't mind if I say you have great taste  ;D

The soldering was not the hard part... just make sure you have your stabilizers on right if you are using a plate BEFORE you solder anything.

The hard part is UN-soldering... it's almost impossible.

Woot! Thanks.

The red plate was the best I could get for this as well... being behind the keys and darker, it kinda goes with all the brown.

I'm actually considering adding at least one or two LEDs as the firmware supports indicator lights for things like toggling the Windows key on/off, etc.

Just not 100% sure on the color (red or white).

I'm also not certain if:
1) I need extra parts (resistors etc) ... although I thought the GH60 already had surface-mounted components for this.
2) Which LEDs to get... what form factor/power etc...

Still need to read up.

I don't remember exactly which LEDs I used on my GH60 Satan but if you eBay search something like 3mm white LED 2 pin you will find them. Looking at your photos I can see the diodes/resistors on the PCB already so all you have to do is add in the LEDs  :thumb:

Quick question as my build is coming up soon:

How did you go about testing the PCB? I see in your blog post you have your little helper doing something with the Switch Hitter program, are they just putting a bent wire between the connection holes to complete the circuit? Also what are the specs on the risers you used?

Thanks for the help!
