Flying with your diy keyboard

I am curious, has anyone encountered problems when flying with your nonstandard keyboards? I can imagine that if my Atreus looks weird to my geeky colleagues it might raise some eyebrows in the security check of the airport.

As long as you don't have a bomb keycap you should be alright!

I've flown all around the USA and "Asia" with my modded Ergodox. It's never even raised an eyebrow with security. Same with my Planck with the milled aluminum enclosure. Other passengers have expressed interest but as soon as I say "I'm a programmer" they just nod and say, "Ohhhh...." then get back to their bubble popping game on their iPad.

I've traveled with my hhkb, custom tkl, even a bare pcb 60% with no issue within canada..  just a few weird looks and some questions about artisans. I have also brought my disassembled PC internals in my carry-on from canada to the USA luckily the security person I had was like "oh my son builds PC's" and asked me the specs of everything, on the way back they didn't even check it.

I fly with my hhkb all the time. I've never had them question me.

With the proper thrust and lift from good aerodynamics, I would assuming flying with keyboards should be no problem. Some heavier boards with more weight to them might require a little more speed and upward force to combat gravity, but assuming your artisan caps don't create too much drag, I don't see why you couldn't use them to fly. Hope this helps :) hehe
