Ordered my Slimblade today - will get it tomorrow.
You guys are a bad influence.
What can you do about the lack of middle click? I use this all the time in Chrome to get a new window open.

Haha, lol.

I made a post a couple months back on the hacked japanese driver that'll let you remap the buttons.
I'd post a link but tapatalk makes that difficult.
I've tested it to work in Winxp and Windows 7 64-bit.

Linux has no such problems, a nd Mac has Usb overdrive I think.

Ctrl+click is not a bad option IMO. At leas I personally have the left hand in that region already.

Missed this thread a while back.  I purchased the slimblade quite a while ago.  Didn't like it initially, but decided to give it a month for my hand/wrist muscles to adapter.  It never left my primary workstation and is still what I use today (paired with my Filco blue cherry tenkeyless).  

Definitely recommend them if you are looking for a good trackball.  I absolutely love the scrolling.  Some good deals at buy.com, Amazon, and NewEgg.  

(the scroll sound is addicting)  ;)

Have any improvements been made to the driver/software package for it?  That's what held me back from buying a slimblade - I read some reviews that people were upset about it, but could have been early adopters.  I like the idea of twisting the ball to scroll and the media mode you can use it in is appealing.

Newegg has 43% of users rating it a 1 out of 5.

Ripster: Assumed that CST Laser Trackball wouldn't be exist at the moment.
What would you alternate prefer? According to your preference, where should
the scroll wheel located on the unit and what is a ergonomic using of that?

You use Marble Scroll as special software?

According to the author's statement, ..the software works with any mouse or
trackball and does not require Logitech's SetPoint or MouseWare drivers to
be installed.. and also for the Slimblade (conjectured).

I had assumed the Slimblade was a lot bigger. First time I've seen one in the same image as a hand for scale.

It's bigger as the Marble and smaller compared to the CST trackball..
iMav has the Slimblade already recommended, still waiting for
trievalot's appraisement.. (enjoy the silence?)

me.....i love the slimblade
now it has the 4 buttoms customizable, its the best desk investment made (aside from all my keyboards)
Other useful feature - other people wont touch it cuz they cant workout how it work, and the ball is a good stress reliever to roll in your hand, or throw at someone attacking you

Not to bust your chops, but Kensington TrackballWorks became an official release earlier this month.  You are correct about Kensington not having an official software suite on Vista/Win7/Win2k8 for forever and a day.  Feel free to trumpet that as that fact will never change. :) That being said, I am barely muster a golf clap for doing something they should have done years ago.  Also, they should get chording to work on the Slimblade Trackball - that is the bigger crime here for me.  All that work to finally upgrade Mouseworks and you couldn't get chording on the Slimblade to work still (firmware issues my !@#)?  Now I'm ranting... :p
