That's an excellent idea, weren't these the original aim of the USB controller anyway?

To be of use in any keyboard? Yes, that was a design goal. My actual motivation to start with the controller was to prepare my Model M for a future without PS/2, and, while at it, add some useful features.

I wonder if the IBM 1392980 is exactly the same as a regular PS/2 Mini, just with a different controller.

I believe past investigation has revealed yes.

Would be a cheap way to get a space saver with funny labels then.
He is asking for $50 BIN, and you can make him an offer. I'd take two for $80 if he'd just reply to my mail...

I put in an offer (divide the asking BIN by 10) on one a while back...I thoroughly expected it to be rejected and was not surprised by the results.

That was taken out of context. The same day, an hour or two earlier, you had referred to me as a "cheap piece of crap".

Hmm...perhaps it isn't (anymore, at least).

Oops, wasn't the same day. Fairly close though. Dug up that post (it was in the thread where the 5576s had been discovered on Yahoo).

I didn't want to get one from him because anything over 100 euros  will be charged with 3% custom tax plus 19% VAT.

Now, seeing the price for a NIB spacesaver only to go uphill i reconsider ...

I only wish he has some white labels left.

Let that sink in ...

So yeah Webwit, wake up. You are taken less seriously than anyone else here, and that is what you get for being king douche bag.

It is, and I'm sorry to everyone else. I'll stop now, but I also think most can feel my pain because I absolutely loath webwit. My skin craws when I read his name.

So it's over. He's a joke but at least I used him to make myself feel better for once, so turn about is fair play

I think consumerism is trend that will burn itself out in the near future. This recession showed us exactly how much consumerism has been hurting the USA. We're cannibalizing ourselves for fake profit derived from "savings" or "credit" from other places where money is still backed and is therefore more real than our's. The thing is there is a movement in the US to get people away from that kind of thinking. I'm part of it.

And for the record, that post was a joke. I'm not buying an iPad. You know why? Other than the blog, that is. Because I think Android OS is going to be a much broader and better product than iPhone OS. After my year is up, I'll most likely get an Android tablet instead.

How do you like them Apples? I'm not a fanboy because I use Apple gear.

EDIT: One more thing - anyone who buys first gen Apple stuff is crazy. They are always buggy as hell and they blow up on people. Wait for rev 2 of ANYTHING Apple.

It's amusing to only see the responses to webwit posts as I have him ignored...  I have to imagine what kind of negativity he is exuding, its actually pretty fun.  Like watching a movie on the plane without headphones so you can make up the dialog yourself.

I like the theme... that pork and beans and quesadilla looks tasty.

I know how you feel about the tailspin thing... I rear ended someone at a stoplight and then two days later my girlfriend at the time dumped me for somebody who makes food look good in photos.

I got an email from ebay saying that this is a relisted item. I doubt that has something to do with the boxes condition though.
