Hi all,

I've just snatched up one of those NIB IBM 'Pingmasters' off of eBay and I'm really looking at doing something pretty custom for once as SKCC isn't a very current switch at all and you certainly won't find a new 60% PCB that supports SKCC switches. So I'm gathering information to hopefully do a SKCC 60% hand wired build using the original case cut down to 60%. I'm also aiming to use the same caps and layout as I doubt I'd find anything else SKCC and its quite an interesting layout! One thing I'd like to get is a new plate for the thing (as opposed to cutting it down). I wondered if anyone has any data sheets for the SKCC green switches or just the SKCC switches in general. Also if anyone has any drawings or CAD files for anything SKCC related (Hopefully someone has done something similar to me although sadly I doubt that). I'm starting to think I'll have to measure and draw everything out although I thought I'd at least try here on GH first!

m0110a used skcc - i don't remember liking how it felt but i never did any work to clean the switches up. i bet they could be made much smoother.

The 88,000 new ones are SKCCAF (tall cream) which is a 70 g switch, while the Pingmaster uses SKCCBK, which is a 60 g switch like Cherry MX Black.

Maybe the springs in SKCCAF could be swapped out with something lighter. With that said, if you thought SKCL/SKCM was hard to open, SKCC is worse, as the tabs are very thin and can snap clean off.
