My new V60, cat approved!
« on: Fri, 12 May 2017, 22:24:30 »
I bought this keyboard a few weeks back and got a dud. Ordered a new one immediately, then called the store. They said a return was no prob, so I'm sending it back for a refund. This is the new one, blank keys installed and 100% working, lol. It's a KBParadise V60 with Matias Quiet Click switches. I've always loved Alps switches. And it was nice of my cat Privly to get all comfy for the shot. With cats, you just gotta let some things happen.

I'm glad your cat likes it! I had the same V60 with Matias before and loved it, though I later swapped out its stock PCB with TMK Alps64 so that I can program it.

Infinity60 with SKCM Orange Switches w/ TMK.
CM Storm QRF w/ Frosty Flake controller, Cherry MX Blue Switches and TMK firmware.

Do you know if this board has the new 2017 low wobble updated Matias switches?  If so, how good is it?

I been away a long time, so your question is French to me. I ordered it from MechanicalKeyboards.com. How can I tell?

Ok, yes, those are the switches, except with grey stems. This is my first Matias board, but I did notice the keys aren't as wobbly as the ones I'm used to. I've had a lot of vintage Alps and other variants like the Strong Mans. I got out all my boards and put them side to side and wobbled them, lol.

From least to most wobbly of my key switches:

1. Cherry blues. Rock solid.
2. Matias Quiet Click. Much more wobbly than the Cherrys.
3. Topre 45g. Like typing on boobs.
4. Vintage white stem Alps, Apple Extended Keyboard II. Gutty Hoe loose.

I really enjoy typing on the V60. I write all day and this keyboard feels great. I like the dampening because I tend to type way to hard, Might just be in the honeymoon phase, but so far so good.

Eghhh.... I wanted to try Matias Linears again but if they are still wobbly PASS.  Like literally I bought a V80MTS with the first generation Quiet Linear and I think I only had it out of the box for 5 minutes before prepping it for return.

Matias Click may get a pass but the Linears are so rattly that it should be illegal to call them "Quiet."  And quite frankly Kailh's new linears have surpassed it in my opinion.

The new Matias quite clicks are less wobbly than vintage complicated Alps? That's impressive. I find my current Matias quiet clicks to be significantly more wobbly than complicated Alps in my switch tester.

What I don't get is the "Click". How you gonna call these switches Quiet Click? They should be called quiet tactile because there is no form of a click to be heard. This is not a complaint as the quiet was a selling point for me though. If I work with regular Alps or buckling springs I wake up my kid by the second 'graph. On this or the Leo with Topres, I don't wake him up at all.

I had no idea the switches were updated until I got the keyboard. The new anti-wobble switches are pretty nice.

I believe "quite click" is totally a misnomer. Its design is inherited from tactile Alps and it is a tactile switch. I have no idea why Matias named it "quite click". Interestingly, Matias calls their boards with clicky switches "Tactile Pro".

Nice! Did you deliberately get a colorway that matched your cat, too, or was that just a coincidence?

Haha, I have a solid grey cat so I figured why not get a solid white one too?

Here they are, the white one is Privilege (Priv for short), the grey one is The Beautiful Kity GaGa.
