My question is: If this IC ends up becoming a group buy, what will the price for a beauty such as this most likely be? I know there is no pricing, I am just trying to find price range, to mentally prepare for financial ruin.

I would calculate 350$ so you aren't surprised. If it's less, then that's a plus.

Most likely.  CAD is about 90% done at this point, the weight is really the only thing I haven't decided on.

Waiting on a proto for another project and dealing with final details for that and then I'll be back to work on this board.

Before finalizing the final design idea, it may be good to produce a few prototypes to examine how the structure holds up - the design of BananaSplit 60% plate, because of the lack of structural link at the bottom right corner, has a lot more warping and some of their end-product productions are problematic.

Yes.  I apologise for the lack of updates.  I was working on another project along side this, but due to my severe lack of time and after some discussion that is getting put on the back burner for now and my focus is now solely on finishing this board.  Currently discussing some necessary details to get this finished up, so no timeline info at the moment but it is progressing forward.

Digging the half-plate :)

Okay someone explain the half plate to me.  It seems the hip thing to do but I’m curious about it.  I get the top mount vs tray mount.  I get the pcb vs plate mounted switches.  But this half plate just seems like going plateless... but then putting a plate where the stabilizers go so that if you have issues you’ll need to desolder 1/2 the board.

Is it just about the feel/flex of the board?

Anywho, the board looks amazing. Sorry to hear about that other project, especially if it’s the one I think it is.  But I’m ready to throw my money at this unique layout.

It is not, that one is still very much alive and about ready.  The one on hold was an unannounced project that I may have teased a time or 2 but that's about it.  It will continue sometime in the future.

Can you make it a sandwiched case (aka Top-mount), so that the plate are mounted directly onto the bottom (and top) portion of the case?
This will be the best linear-switch setup.

I was part of the ‘no f-row spacers’ team, but to be honest, they have grown on me.
Imo the f-spacers create a more balance look.

Also let’s face it, no spaces needs uniform colored f-row too look best and we aren’t getting many of those.
People love hating uniform f-rows ;_____;
