G80-2100 Software & Manual Scan

Mental Hobbit had requested this so I figured maybe others can make use of it too. Here is the original software and the original manual (in German language) for the Cherry G80-2100. The manual includes some nice diagrams and also all scan codes and stuff, so it might even be interesting if you do not understand German. Otherwise maybe some time later I will upload a translated version.

 Cherry G80-2100 Software & Manual

This is the original software for the Cherry G80-2100.
Unlike all modern Windows versions of the Cherry tools this ancient DOS version is able to
program the G80-2100.

These are the full contents of the original floppy disk and only compatible with MS-DOS.
Most of the files have not been touched since 1992/1994, so they probably will only work in a
real DOS environment.
I tried to get it to work in both Windows XP and Windows 7, but emulated DOS mode and DOS Box
do not seem to work properly.

If you do not have a DOS compatible machine anymore, you can run the software in FreeDOS,
in which it works perfectly.

I recommend downloading the "fdfullcd.iso" which can run as a live CD without installing.
FreeDOS comes with full USB support, so you can put the Cherry tools onto a USB stick or
similar.

As a bonus you can find a full scan of the manual (in German language) in the /manual folder!

I like how the macro they use on the cover of the manual is "Ctrl+Alt+Del."  That's classic.

I was mostly curious about the datasheet, but it turns out there are also quite a few details about programming the board that I didn't know yet.

Name your kid "Hartmann".  I think it means "virile".

Now if there were more G80-2100's to go around.  Honestly, I'd have no problem with the (incredible) shipping cost.

While terminal keyboards might be nice, this similar-in-layout keyboard has this specific feature that Terminal/Emulator keyboards don't have (USB controllers notwithstanding).

Not exactly understanding that.  On the other hand, it'd be worth it for scooping up non-SPOS Cherry keyboards.

Pretty good job with the scan there, a few "I'm A4 but was scanned in A3 anyway" goofs excepted (oh, and the layout double-page is rotated for some reason). Not bad for a "direct scan to PDF" job. I'd probably have spent a few hours tweaking the scans.
