One of the best ten-keyless cases I have ever seen!
« on: Wed, 01 November 2017, 11:27:15 »
The video is mainly for the Star-Trek themed keycaps, but skip at 00:57sec to witness one of the nicest and most solid ten-keyless cases you have ever seen:

This is the case I want, but I am pretty sure it is going to cost a fortune!

That's a norbauer coolermaster case. There's been 3 rounds of them and they started at $200.

It definitely looks like it but it is not. The cooler master case was from aluminium and very smooth and polished. The specific one does not look like aluminium. It looks much more like steel and it is powder coated.

Look at the grain of the metal. The texture looks like a 90's steel computer case.

Yep. Norbauer TKL in "Galaxy Console" finish. https://shop.norbauer.com/products/cnc-aluminum-case-for-cooler-master-tkl-boards-round-2-5

On further inspection you are both right! Wow what a case!

Currently available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

https://shop.norbauer.com/products/custom-tan-keyboard-and-housing?variant=122948812808

It's a preorder to go along with the Galaxy Class keyset with its own MOQ, which isn't specified on the product page. It'll also be slightly different from the previous versions produced in that it'll have LED holes above the arrow keys specifically to accommodate the CM Masterkeys S that comes with it.

Yeap, which is pretty cool, about the LEDs. As far as i can tell it will look like the case from the video. You can get the case without the Star-Trek keyset. I have done a bit research since I found this. I will most definitely be ordering the case, even if it comes with the CM keyboard. I can later build another board for the case.

Not really. For $359 you get:
  • Galaxy Class Core keyset ($109 value)
  • CoolerMaster MasterKeys Pro S PBT ($80 value)
  • Norbauer aluminum case in custom textured finish ($220 value based off of previous groupbuys)

It adds up perfectly for what you're getting. Granted, a $200+ case may fit the definition of excessive for you. That's understandable.

The case and MasterKeys Pro is 359$ - the keyset is a separate buy from a separate site.

Right. The powder-coated cases went for more than the $220 (only the basic anodized colors were $220). The special colors were $260+ and the powder-coated cases were closer to $300 iirc. So the $360 is a decent deal for the combo. Just unfortunate that the switch options are so limited.
