Save your time and just burn the cash instead of buying this keyboard.

Heck, just have a night on the town instead of buying this one as well. ($99 FKB4700)

Imma think they have a decimal placement problem...  35,000 = 350.00, 750 = 75.0 or 7.50...

If not, I want some of what they're smoking.

This is getting funny.   Kishy gave one away for free here.

Webwit got one for a couple of Euro.

Actually I still have it. Nobody wants it. They're THAT bad.

Unfortunately I never made it out to the recycler (in a vehicle that wasn't a transit bus) so I wasn't able to lug out all the junk I wanted to trash. That keyboard is very much still here in my house annoying me.

Sir, this is the KING of keyboards! But, considering our fine relationship, I'm willing to part with mine in return for one of those worthless PC XT converters.

Yeah, I see that there have been a few recent claims to the KING of Keyboards title - like the fabulous Model M Mini Space Saving Keyboard.

Your offer is most gracious,  but I only have one XT to AT converter and the value appears to be rising. Brandon no longer offers one for sale and it seems like too much of a pain in the ass for most people to build their own.

The 83-key PC/XT Model F is indeed a fine keyboard, probably the finest example of buckling springs over capacitive contact key switches.   I've reconsidered my position and agree that the 83-key build quality and key presses are better than the 84-key PC AT Model F.  Too bad the layout is beyond the threshold of adaptability, for me.

I would consider trading my worthless XT to AT converter for one of your worthless Japanese IBM 5576 keyboards...

Hmm.. I do have for trade one puny IBM 5576-A01 keyboard, but despicable as it may be, it's still worth more in scrap parts than a mere XT to AT converter, and makes a better doorstop.

Dare I ask, how much higher do you believe the market value of the puny 5576-A01 vs. the market value of the more puny XT to AT converter?  Partial trade...perhaps?

Is the A01 the model with the Brother switches or was that in a later series?

With the possible exception of an IBM beam sprng keyboard, no keyboard makes a better doorstop than an 83-key Model F.  Those things are truly tanks.

$1300.  Must be those Nav keys stickers.

Very nice.  It would make an outstanding addition to my collection but I'm afraid it's too rich for my blood.

I think this is the most popular model. Brother buckling springs and I think the one that settled the modern Japanese keyboard layout, so it is "standard". It was 120 to 130 EUR if I remember correctly..then add like 20 EUR for bank and crescent costs and domestic shipping..then add shipping costs to Europe..then customs costs..expensive.

Not as expensive as a NIB one though, the only one currently listed. BIN for 950 EUR.

So 150-160 EUR range?

The peerless is the most dangerous and monstrously conceived communist plot we've ever faced: specifically designed to sap and impurify all of your precious bodily fluids.

You have been warned. I wouldn't pay $7.50 for one, much less $750.
Now stay away from that auction and don't ever look for a 47XX again.

Someone is interested in my peerless...finally...

Assuming shipping ends up being acceptable they will get it for shipping...maybe plus a few bucks for a box depending on what I need to buy.

Yep, something like that, maybe 170 if I want to earn back all the shipping and customs. Although to be honest you're probably better off getting into crescent and buying one yourself. This is because I'd also have to ship the brick to you, which ain't cheap. Also if you're patient you might find a better deal.. maybe 2000 or 3000 yen better. If some Japanese collector is bidding with you and wants it, you have no chance. But traffic is lower than ebay I think so there is more chance you are lucky and grab it. Crescent has an English translated interface and search interface into Yahoo Auctions and it's very easy, you will be surprised. Me, I blame that Topre fanboy rdjack for getting me into this ;)

Sounds like an adventure.  I'll give it a shot after I get through the quarter-end financial close at work.

Do you plan on actually using your 83-key brick?  Someone mentioned the 83-key layout is more adaptable to Europeans although I don't understand how that's possible.  I can never correctly hit the Shift and Return keys without looking at the keys.

I am "on the fence" about selling the converter.  I rarely pull out the 83-key to type on -  it's more of a novelty than anything.  I guess I can experience the exquisite key presses of the 83-key brick without actually connecting it to a PC  ;)

Don't have a clue of the converter market value because I couldn't find any for sale using Yahoo search.  I bought it from Brandon for $100 last year.

PM me if you are still interested in the converter.  You have too many of those boring industrial gray Model M's anyway  ;)
