Double Shot Keys - Cherry MY 8000
« on: Tue, 30 March 2010, 14:32:28 »
Here is a nice board with a nice price from a nice seller:

Linky Dinky

Article No:   G81-8000HPBUS-2 / 01

Made in Germany.

Filco swap issues:   Offset lower keys, offset capslock

Otherwise all of the other keys swap including the FN keys and the Numpad.

I received 2 of these in excellent condition.   No noticeable wear on the keys.

Doesn't the "L" in G80-8963LUBUS-2 denote lasered keys ("H" would be double-shots), or is that another Cherry model number inconsistency?

That used to be the case I think??  But I've seen "H" designated boards with lasered caps.   But even the lasered caps are MUCH nicer than the Filco caps imho.

I think most people haven't bid on the Cherry MY 8000 due to the lack of the actual article no.

I just paid the Buy it Now of $19.99.  I wonder if the seller would accept less to get rid of his stock?

What type of Cherry switches are in this board?  If they are Blues I might buy one.

Definitely not blues. I have three of them, all with the same model number. Two of them had white/clear switches, the other had brown switches except for one function key that had a white/clear switch.

No, they are the MY mushy white switches.   I haven't seen a Cherry blue switch board yet??   I don't even know which models have them.   Mostly cherry brown and those MYs.

In the auction you linked to the part number is listed as G80-8963LUBUS-2 which should have either Cherry brown or clear/white switches, I think.

Thanks for pointing that out.  I linked to the wrong auction.   I fixed it.
