What is GH60? GK64 == GH60 ?
« on: Tue, 27 February 2018, 15:48:15 »
I have GK64 keyboard and I am looking for options to customize it - change case, keycaps and so on.
I have found many cases for GH60.  What is the GH60 exactly ?  it is all 60% keybords, right ?
Can I use GH60 cases for GK64 (this, for example https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/Iqunix-lambo-60-mechanical-keyboard-anode-alumina-shell-base-gh60-poker2/32677061753.html ?spm=a2g0v.10010108.1000016/B.1.763c650aLzBTy2&isOrigTitle=true) ?  Are the sizes and the places for screws the same ?

And more general question: can I use something (cases, keycaps) for GK64 if it is labeled as GH60.

Thanks.

GH60 is one of the first 60% PCBs designed by the community, hence GH standing for Geekhack.

Can find most information here: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34959

GH60 compatible generally means that it works with 60% PCBs as there is somewhat of a standard on the screw in placements etc.

GK64 has a different ZXC row, so compatibility between GK64 and GH60 probably doesn't cross over. I'm not too educated on what the GK64 is though.

GK64 plates won't work on the GH60 or any 2.25u 60% PCBs.

GK64 cases use different mounting positions to the normal Poker-style cases. However the GK64 PCB supports Poker/gh60 cases.

Found that the gk64 will fit in the kbdfans 5° case, and I was even able to use the dz60 plate that they have listed as well.

One thing I noticed though is that I think this pcb will need some shielding with this case, maybe some polyimide tape on the PCB.

Does it mean that I can use GH60 wooden case (https://ru.aliexpress.com/item/gh60-poker-keyboard-wood-case-Black-walnutWood-Scented-RoseWood/32734682512.html) for GK64 ? As any other GH60 case.

Guy at work uses a gk64 with a wood case for kbdfans, works just fine.

The GK64 pcb is compatible with most GH60 cases.  The only issue I've run into are some cases that have a larger screw boss.  The hot swaps sockets will sometimes hit interfere with the screw boss if it is bigger than normal.  I had have a wooden case for mine, and have to file down the lower right screw boss to avoid interference.

Most aluminum cases fit fine though.
