New Genovation Programmable Keyboard
« on: Fri, 02 March 2018, 11:48:12 »
I was going to buy another CP48 when I noticed that Genovation now has this for sale.

http://store.genovation.com/programmables/kb170l.html

It has 66 extra programmable keys with 2 layers, giving 132 keys. If this works like the CP48, it would be incredible - if it has all mechanical keys. I may have to call them to confirm whether all keys are Cherry MX.

Has anyone used this board? Any thoughts?

As far as I know they are all Cherry MX black.  There are a couple of in-depth reviews on YouTube.  One from CES and the other where the guy actually owned it. Seems pretty much identical to a CP48 married to a 101-key keyboard (and the option of basic backlighting).

Thanks. I was afraid the standard keyboard part might be rubber dome and the rest mechanical.

Knowing Genovation, they are probably going to sell these for some ridiculous price like $300.

No, maybe even more.

If a tiny numpad is already $80, a keyboard that big would be, what, $500?
