keyboard recommendation, similar to sun type 7?
« on: Tue, 06 April 2010, 20:51:48 »
Hi, my school has Sun microsystems computers with what I think are Sun type 7 keyboards. I really like the look and feel of these keyboards, the non-clicky keys and kind of clean classic look/beige color.

I understand these keyboards are optimized for use with Sun's Solaris OS, so I am hesitant about buying one and using it for my PC. Would anyone be able to recommend me a keyboard that is similar to the feel of the Sun type 7? (Appearance, too, if possible, but not as important.) Or do you think it will be fine using this keyboard with a non-Sun computer?

Type 7 USB will work flawlessly on a PC, however you'll find a bunch of keys don't do anything and don't appear to send scancodes (I have a Type 7 USB and run Windows XP).

I guess that's not flawlessly then is it? But fairly close.
