If they were HANUS (anus, henh-henh [/Beavis]), they'd be worth harvesting the caps.  I suppose even the laser caps might be worth it for someone wanting white caps...

Would you be able to stick the guts of a G80-3000 into one of these cases?  It might be good mod fodder.

Great deals for a long lasting keyboard.  When you consider what businesses pay for a replacement board and what they get, these Cherrys are a bargain.

Yep, it's the same case. Swapping guts takes less than a minute without any tools.

Awesome.  I like the white better than the black, especially since it has all-white keys.  The  cap swap will take awhile, though.

Not with the "new-style" 3000 cases as pictured here. First of all the clips are a bit of a pain to open, and then there are a few screws inside as well. I would assume the guts of contemporary German-made G80-3000s would swap right in (there were some internal G80/G81 differences with the old-style 3000 cases though), but see little reason to do that.
Hardware in signatures clutters Google search results. There should be a field in the profile for that (again).

This message was probably typed on a vintage G80-3000 with blues. Double-shots, baby. :D

I'm bidding on the 3-board listing, but if someone else wins, would they mind selling me one of the 'boards (from either listing)?  I just want one (NIB) 'board to mod my 3000 to white.  Thanks!

Btw, these are probably new generation keyboards. That means the keys will be thin PBT and not all keys will be MX compatible. With the new style G81-3000s at least backspace, enter, both shifts, spacebar, numpad 0, numpad +, numpad enter and all of the front row keys will not be MX compatible.

ABS cases.  Warp problems when dyeing.

You mean MX compatible or they can't be swapped with Filco/DAS?    Are they offcenter or something?

Yeah, they can't be swapped with Filco/DAS nor other Cherry MX boards. I had to search for a long time to find one G81 in the house, because I burned all of mine with fire, but here you go:

Did anyone win one of these auctions?  If so, could you spare one of these 'boards for me?

I find that the MY caps with legs work acceptably on MX switches after I clip off the legs. Even without stabilizers, they seem to work on off center hits.
I trolled Geekhack and all I got was an eponymous SPOS.
