IBM Model F weights
« on: Thu, 24 May 2018, 04:25:42 »
Hiya guys, I need some help preparing for a video I'm doing in a few weeks. Specifically, some weight measurements. Could people please provide me with a (fairly accurate) weight (digitally weighed, not including the weight of the cable, please) of the following Model F keyboards:

-5291 "Bigfoot" XT model
-3178 or 3101 "blue button"
-F104 "unsaver" keyboard
-4704 F50
-4704 F77

Thanks in advance, guys :D .

I have an Unsaver but it is packed up for long-term storage, and I also modded it - ANSI, new foam, floss, and probably stuffed some padding in the case.

Still, probably not more than 50 grams additional.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

5085 104 variant is 3474 grams. I'll see if I can weigh a 77 key later today, life's keeping me busier than usual.

4704 77 key, with rear foot, without relegendables:

With cable: 3554.5g
With cable resting on desk (didn't have time to properly remove it): 3415g
Single relegendable keycap (15 can be added): 0.5g

Well, the scale I was using only has readability of 0.5g, so there's some error margins there. It does measure up to 5kg though, so it's a decent scientific scale that I instead use for kitchen related purposes :D
