Hi,guys,
Trying to mod a kbd there're fewer keys as less as possible, cut those keys that never been used.
But it seems hard to get a suitable shell..... how？
Any ideas?

Gotcha. CNC would probably be your best bet then.

CNC is a little bit complicated to me, and hard to find the suitable place.
And I should first make a 3d model, what is impossible to me.

Would there be a way that you could find a case that would fit your needs that you could put the "guts" into?

My plan is to make do without a shell, just a bottom cover that provides enough protection for the electronics. Bit like the Guruboard, but a fraction more minimalist.

that filco is cool,
wood is easy to cut, a good material to mod. maybe wood is the suitable material.
woody keycaps, that's not easy...

Arcylic is fine too,but i am afraid it is hard to process preciously by manu tools.

I wonder if vacuum forming could create a shell that is solid enough that it's worth making. Maybe it could, if you just take plastic with the right thickness...

If you could make a mold out of wood or some other material (clay maybe), you could use this stuff.

It is super strong, looks good if you do it right, affordable, and easy to work with. You could make custom keys too if you were really skilled.
