Niz Plum TKL 45g vs Leopold FC750PD
« on: Mon, 29 October 2018, 06:04:31 »
Hi guys,

I can't choose between these two keyboards. I already have one Niz Plum and I like the switches a lot and the keyboard overall (before that I only owned Razer BW(Blues) and Tesoro (Browns), but I've never had Leopold or tried Silent Red switches. They cost roughly the same - 130 EUR. I like Niz Plum with topre clones, but what if Leopold is even better? What would you choose? I will have to change keycaps on either of them to get cyrillics if it matters.

I have both of these....The Leopold is better..

I use the Plum at work because I don't care what happens to it...it definitely is not a Topre replacement but good enough..

The Silent MX Leo 750pd feels really nice...and very solid...the keycaps are some of the best stock keycaps out there and the silent mx goes very nicely with the build...Since you need to get rid of the keycaps I guess it doesn't matter...but you can probably trade or give away the Doubleshot PBT ones you're replacing..

Someone who has both keyboards ;D

Do switches feel close to each other? I think they should because both are linear and have approximately the same actuation force. How much louder is Leopold?

And thanks for your insight.

The Plum isn't linear...It has a very light tactility (which is why it isn't a great Topre replacement) but the light tactility is probably because the force need to press down is less than 45g Topre.  It feels like 30g/Topre.

The Silent MX on the Leo feels somewhat Topre like in that it is solid, stable and has a similar sound...and has a similar feel when you're pressing down but without the tactility at the top...

I'm happy with both to be honest...The Plum works out for work because I don't care if I lose it..it is still close enough to Topre to keep me happy...

The Leopold is fun to type on as well but you have to be ok with typing on Linear switches...I like this keyboard for gaming the most though..really really good...
