Thanks for all the info!

I came here for help identifying an old keyboard that I found in a basement and this forum sure delivered with the search results.
The keyboard was a DFI labeled Chicony 5181 with Cherry Blues.

It completes my blue switch trio.  Its oddly lighter and smoother than the new models, it's almost closer to my WASD Cherry brown in feel and actuation force.

Maybe this is from use or a change in manufacturing between 1989 and 2014?

I think Cherry MX Blues do lose a bit of their click and tactility with use just based on my limited experience. I have a board with MX Blues that I used at work for three years, and it seems less crisp than a blue switch in my switch tester. It could also be that I experience with more switches now, so I just notice more nuances than I used to.

I do recall reading about some differences in Cherry MX Blues from a certain span of time (like 2014 or 2015) where they didn't feel as good or weren't as consistent. I'm not sure though since that was before I really paid attention to this stuff.
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

The world has become a weird place.
