Quote
This is Slate.

The name Slate is a reference to both the color of the set and the fact that you can mix and match this set with others for unique looks. Using the shades between 9009/Muted/OG Cherry sets and the Dolch family, this GMK keyset provides a rock solid base on which to customize.

Alongside EnjoyPBT Slate we'll be offering PB modifiers.

PB draws its inspiration from the mid-90's Packard Bell logo:

Is it 6.25u? I went back and looked after I made that post and I didnít see any size markings. Iím a noob and could have totally missed it just judging the size based on the other keys beside the space though.

*Edit*
Duh! If there are 3 space bars theyíre all different sized and the one without the size is 6.25u by default .

You're definitely set with a gray 6.25u spacebar in the base kit.

Teal spacebar may actually be 6.5u for layouts that use non standard bottom row. Thought it may be a typo at first

OP, I wish you luck with this GB, but I really was hoping for GMK, since this is a set that is made to be mixed with others, and all my other sets are GMK.

Here's hoping it runs in GMK one day as originally intended.

The color turns out much lighter than expected from the render...
Is it because of the lighting?

Please don't get offended easily, I joint the GB and simply want things to be done right. And I believe you are one of more experienced persons to pull this off.
Not at all trying to say that the color should look close to Muted, that was just for comparison.

If you treasure being straightforward, I have to plainly say that the color of this round of sample for EnjoyPBT Slate simply does not match the render:

At least to my bare naked eyes.

Well, perhaps just me and all others are happy to leave the colors stay this way despite what I have pointed out.
In order to convince me that this sample is already a qualified final for the initially intended colors, perhaps you need some photos with corrected white balance to compare against the render and the patone color plates.

OG/Kekkon Dolch on top, EPBT Slate in the middle, GMK Muted on the bottom. Not even close to Muted, lmao

Show Image

At least to my bare naked eyes.

Well, perhaps just me and all others are happy to leave the colors stay this way despite what I have pointed out.
In order to convince me that this sample is already a qualified final for the initially intended colors, perhaps you need some photos with corrected white balance to compare against the render and the patone color plates.

Those are preliminary renders as the IC says, and weren't included in the GB phase since I know they aren't accurate. I don't have irl pantone color plates to compare, and I'm not sure if I can get 100% proper white balanced pics for you - but I'll see what I can do. Those original renders were using a tone based on the RGB values GMK gives for their 2B color chip. You can see in the below pic, the alpha tone is not identical to CC, but is slightly lighter/warmer (this is intended):

I have two rounds of samples (just legends adjusted between them) and both have met my spec as far as what I want these to look like. I've been working pretty closely with Janglad to get some proper (mostly) accurate renders done.

If all else fails, you're free to come hang out in Dayton for a day or two and check the set out yourself.

Hineybush, Thanks for posting the new renders and thanks for doing that in keyboard cases of different shades of grey.

Now I am aware of that Judging the colors alone, without the side by side comparison, makes me fall into some color optical illusion effect.

Heading into the last week of this (unless I decide an extension is needed) and we still need about ~30 orders between myself and Mykeyboard.eu for us to justify ordering out the rest of the MOQ. I'm confident we can get there, so hopefully we do!

The best way to tell the color is the pics compared to Muted and Dolch, imo. The new renders are pretty (95% I'd say) accurate.

I believe this pic belongs to your first round of samples. Can we expect the product of this GB to look exactly like those samples? Or have you tweaked the colors after the picture above was taken?

Yes. The 1st and 2nd sample sets i received are gonna be the same color. The only difference were some slight legend changes. Color wise nothing will change.

The legends will be the same as Grayscale/Kuro/Shiro/Royal Alpha. Slightly thinner than the sample legends, which will give a sharper, more Cherry-esque look.

oh yeah. those aren't in sorry

This is really unfortunate, I vastly prefer Home, PgUp, PgDn, End in a column on my 65% & 75% boards.

I mean, it's just plastic so not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but this change is not consistently represented.  While I do see updated kits on hineybush.com, both the OP and kbdfans have images which show the R1 End & R2 PgDn.

Yeah I noticed that, but in your project page there is no PgDn key on the Enter row and no End key on the Shift row

Oh wow yeah I see what you mean now. Those ones are supposed to be in the kit. I'll see if I can get that updated asap.

Awesome, appreciate the quick response.  Still love the colors and very much looking forward to the set regardless of how this pans out.
