What kind of switches did it have?  If it's mechanical, I would suspect ALPS.

Not totally sure, I just saw that layout and had to have it...well up until the auction went over 18 dollars. Hahaha.

I've really got to be careful however, most ebay sellers consider a "clicky" keyboard something that simply makes noise when bottoming out. I contacted the seller and he said that it did make noise when the key was still in travel which is a good sign.

Damn, it would have been nice to have those unconventional key positions. A real eye catcher. I guess everyone has an IBM by now, I was simply looking for something unique. Other ideas for less conventional/lesser known (affordable) boards?

Thanks for the reply ripster! Interesting to look at, that is for sure.
Sadly my college budget is killing me right now. I'll continue to hit up the thriftstores for a while.

regarding my link above,
What keyboards have odd function keys down the side like that...I kind of like that look. Also, the cross shaped directional key area is cool. Probably nothing I can claim at the last minute for 20 dollars or so.

Northgate Omnikeys and IBM Model Fs have the F keys down the side.  They usually go for a fair amount of money, but sometimes you can snag one for cheap.  If you look for Model Fs, be sure you look for the AT version.  You will be sorry if you get an XT.

Some Zeniths also have the F keys on the left side.

Probably some generic Alps/Fake Alps/SMK/Monterey keyboard. Far too expensive for what it is.
