Hi, I have a Vortex Race 3, I found reassigning keys rather easy but can't figure out if I can set up assign word /character strings to certain keys, such as a short sentence...if that is even possible on the R3.

I've seen that page but it seems to be more key swapping.
Is there a way to assign a string of letters, say..'KTMSA' to a certain key like Ctrl-7?

Programming macros works exactly like reassigning keys. Simply enter the whole word or sentence before pressing <PN>. It works up to 30 or 32 characters per key.

But you can't assign macros to key combinations. Meaning you can reprogram the key <7>, but not Ctrl-7.

So if I were to assign 'KTMSA' to the 7 key. I would go into the 2nd layer (red) press FN Ctrl (right) then press (here's where I get confused)..Cap Lock- K-T-M-S-A then 7 or KTMSA then PN then 7? I can only figure out swapping say Backspace for Delete etc.

After <FN>+<RCtrl> you always press at first the key, which you want to reprogram. In your case <7>.
!! For some strange reason you have to press this first key often 2 or even 3 times - until the right LED under the spacebar reacts. !! (I think it changes from static to flashing (I have my vortex boards not here at the moment to check.))
After the change of the right LED you simply enter, what the 7 key shall do. This can be either one key press or a whole sentence. In your example press and hold Shift and enter KTMSA like you would in an editor. When you're finished, press <PN> and - if you don't have any further keys to reprogram <FN>+<RCtrl> to exit program mode.
