Strange sound at one key on new HKKB Keyset
« on: Tue, 18 May 2010, 07:32:58 »
just got white keyset for my blank black hhkb, and overall it looks very good. but one strange thing I found - DELETE key has some tinky (jar) sound, what usually I heard on spacebar with some keyboards. but this time it's only at delete button. when I change this key back to black old key - this sound dissapear.

any one can say me how I can fix it?:) or it will dissapear with time?

no visual difference, just difference in sound. maybe some empty cells inside of key dunno, replaced it with black. looks also good) all other looks ok. (seems guys at PFU could have better quality control for their keysets what are $70 per set)

I was going to do what iMav did and go white caps on a black 'board.  I reconsidered.  They're great caps, but I think I'll replace them when I can see myself in them.

so after all I want to say that BLACK keys plastic and WHITE key plastic differs. I like more BLACK - it sounds more thock thock and less tinky ;-) It clearly see at big - no letter - keys.

just for the note

I dunno, I just described my experience. I could even say, that the difference is mostly between GREY and BLACK/WHITE. at least SPACEBAR sounds the same for me. but GREY KEYs, sounds different from the black keys - it's for sure. The one thing more, I'am thinking about it's that BLACK keys are more polished atm, and it's the reason. So keys up/down a little different angel or dunno, but it's just another IDEA why I have sound difference.
