Our ErgoDox cases have arrived! 4 layers of clear acrylic, top layer is aluminum color of your choice (black, silver, blue, red, green).
Only 10 or fewer of each color in stock, so don't think too long about it!

If I already have a regular ergodox case, wouldn't I only need the top piece?

We're currently only offering them as 5-layers. If we sold only the aluminum, we'd have 4 layers of acrylic pieces that wouldn't be able to be used.

For a cost, probably.
We're looking to sell a kit of all needed parts ready for assembly.

I just want to know if the aluminum is compatible with the existing acrylic layers that come with the standard ergodox kit.

I'm not 100%, but I don't see why it wouldn't be compatible.
Only hiccups I can think of would be hardware holes and height of your top layer vs the aluminum.

If the middle 3 layers are made from 5mm thick acrylic, as in the original ergodox cases, it matters not whether the top and bottom plates are made from 3mm acrylic or 1.5mm aluminum.

It's universal. If it fits the right side, you flip it upside down to fit the left side.
