I Want to Buy Your Things
« on: Sun, 08 September 2013, 00:28:13 »
I am buying things. What things you may ask? Well the answer is simple. I want to buy your things. Your cat? I'll buy that. How about your shoes? I'll buy those too. And that medal you got for 4th place in your 5th grade track meet? Do you even need to ask? But let's be serious for a minute here. What I really want to buy, are the finer things in life. Like keyboards, and novelty key caps. As I'm new around here, and I am not ready to dish out wads of cash for clacks or topre's, I'd like to start small. If you have any cool, odd, uncommon, fancy, random, weird, or otherwise normal caps or boards you are willing to part with for a reasonable amount of money, I may be interested. May also be interested in purchasing a soldering station, soldapullt, as well as a Razer Deathadder 2013!

Some info:
- Living in BC, Canada
- Will pay with Paypal
- If you have an item you'd like to sell, please tell me in detail what the item is, and any pictures you have of said item.
- Please include cost of the item and cost of shipping to Canada in post
- Will not be using Paypal gift
- Looking to buy off of reputable sources, but willing to work things out for newer sellers

Here is a picture of a cat

Sorry, not interested in buying sunglasses at the moment, my collection is already quite large. Hell... I don't even wear sunglasses most of the time. I'd be interested in the caps though.

What are you asking for it, including shipping the Canada? Also, would you be willing to sell any individual caps or the board minus caps?

I'm mostly looking to try new stuff. I'm unfamiliar with the MiniTouch, does it use a different type of switch? I'm not looking to spend too much at the moment, so depending on the price, I'd definitely be interested.

Depending on the switch the mini touch can either be awesome or ****.

Monterrey blues = awesome
White Alps/xm = crap

Somebody out there will like white alps.

But I feel the same about black cherry and people buy that and fall for the placebo of vintage.

Depending on the price I may still be interested, mostly because I've never tried alps (or any mechanical switch) before!

Well the board is "new old stock," and I got it new in box.  Apart from me typing 3 quotes on typeracer to try it out, it's never been used.  I've gotten used to the stiffness of Black ALPS and the Whites felt too light to me, and I guess I'm not a fan of clicky switches in general.  It's also too compact for me, which are all the reasons I'm selling it.

I had already reduced the price to $72.50 shipped from $80, and I wouldn't charge any extra to ship to Canada.  I wouldn't really want to go lower than that since I'm already taking a loss, but that's what it is if you're interested.

What do you mean by "new old stock"? Also, do you know what the actual force required to actuate the switch is? Do you have any pictures of the board? How compact is it, is it 60% or TKL? I'll have to look around to find out the average price of the board, but $72.50 shipped is definitely within my price range after Friday (pay day, yeaaah). After looking at what the board looks like and how compact it is, I may or may not be very interested.

"New old stock" is a general term meaning that the item is both brand new and out of production, so new ones are no longer being made.

Since it's a Simplified White ALPS, the force required to actuate it is less than Complicated ALPS; I don't think they ever posted the exact numbers for the MiniTouch.  Based on trying it, to me, it felt a little bit lighter than a rubber dome with a delicate click.

It's somewhere between 60% and TKL boards I guess; it still has all the function keys, and the arrows are next to a halfish-size shift and... 3/4 size enter, I guess you'd call it.

I can take some pictures when I get home this afternoon if you're still interested, but I can link a generic picture of one here with a key taken off so you can see the switch.  Mine will essentially just look the same as a new one.

Mine will essentially just look the same as a new one.

http://tux.fi/~kumis/Keyboards/Siig/siig.JPG

I'll have to think about it for now, as there are so many things I'm interested in buying right now. It's actually quite overwhelming, haha.

Want to buy my Scarface caps ? :D

I'll bite how much for the set?

More than anyone has ever offered me for them!

hmm, that picture with your scarface caps is what made me aware such things as mechanical keyboards existed and made me buy my first mechanical keyboard. A thing which runs quickly out of hand, i noticed; in two weeks i will have four...

Those scarface caps are the coolest non-vintage caps i've seen, but I doubt they're in my budget...

I made a custom acrylic case for my cherry brown keyboard. It's held up by 3d-printed pegs, the plastic rises a little in the bottom center area, and it's kinda creaky in parts. Plus, it's charred up or melty-looking around the edges. But hey, It's 100% custom made, if you're into that sort of thing. Just asking enough to fund the purchase of another fullsize board.

Attached is a pic of the keyboard in progress, there are two more screws and standoffs now. New, non-ricey keycaps in a month if you are willing to wait.

Sorry, not in need of any full size cases. :(

Not pushing it, but it is not just the case but the full board.

Ah I see. For me, part of custom boards is making it yourself, so I'm probably not too interested in purchasing at this point in time. I'm very sorry.

I'll sell you this lot for $100 plus $10 Canadian shipping.  Misc. novelty keys, 2 types of IMSTO O-Rings, a full CMYK set, a partial purple set, doubleshot RGYB and an extra Cherry RGB, a full White on Black Cherry doubleshots set, a bunch of Retro 1.25 extra mods...

If not, and anyone else wants the lot (I'd prefer not to split it up--want to clean out stuff I'm not using), I'll also do $15 shipping to CONUS as well.
EDIT:  This has sold.

That's an awesome set of caps. Sadly, I'm not interested in everything, but I'm sure someone is!

I'll give it one more honest bump, and then I'll probably just make a new thread :D Looking to buy a soldering station, razer deathadder 2013, soldapullt (deluxe is preferred), and some novelty caps that won't break the bank.
