I voted for white, but I'll be happy with any colour.

WHITE!!! As one that mostly use dark keycap and will always not use a plate I do like a tiny bit of something between the keycaps, and also it will help reflect the led instead of absorbing it like the matte black one. On my prototype I have to look really hard to see if the led is on with non windowed keycap.

That sounds awful Ivan. Let me take that horrid PCB off your hands so that you can use a proper white one. Huehuehue.  ;)

Btw. how long will that poll be open for?
In the end I really don't care about the color.
I just want to hold my precious GH60s as soon as possible.

I know we're talking about PCB colours right now, but I was just thinking about the assembly service... The LED capabilities of the PCB were only finalised after the GB started moving forward. What's the best way to confirm or make alterations to our preferred configuration?

You make a fair point. Looking at my Pure it really doesn't reflect light from LEDs well.

That white is looking all kinds of sexy, might build mine without a plate just because of that fact.
Also because I've never tried a board without one.

I would like to know something similar, I took over someones order and it has assembly where he asks for LEDs, which I dont want and I asked to remove the LED, keep the assembly of the actual switches etc, but I never got a confirmation on that.

I think questions regarding assembly will be answered when it's time to actually assemble the boards, which I guess will be after most non-assembled orders has been shipped.

Cool, I really don't mind waiting. As long as those users who opted for assembly are contacted regarding their initial assembly instructions since those were given before the PCB options were finalised :)

And with regards to PCB colour, I voted "no preference". Since I'm going the plate-mount route, I don't mind what colour the PCB is.

There is a PCB that was being offered without any components.
Maybe some people want to source their own parts or something, pixel5. I really have no idea what they would want bare one for. I would buy one just to frame it really.

point of a bare pcb is that you can either get  the components later if you don't have money now or if you know that you can get the components cheaper somewhere else.

gnubag, just like I said in the first part of my reply; "some people want to source their own parts".

The reason why I say "I really have no idea" is because I wouldn't bother with sourcing other parts when they are right there for a pretty darn good price already.

oh, well maybe he can get them for even cheaper and also he can charge more for soldering when he sells them.

little more work for lots of profit.

You base that statement on what kind of information? Can you or do you know of a way to source the SMT components for the PCB at a lower cost than we have here? How much lower? And how many keyboards is this "he"-person making? How much time is spent doing the soldering work? Is this time calculated into this "lots of profit"-number?

Give me a break, man.

Is there ANY possible way I could be added to this group buy? I could submit payment instantly! I cant go and read all the posts to catch up, only read the last few pages and first few.

After a month of being so disappointed that no one keyboard has what I want, this GH60 is a miracle to me.

Well the one before this one would have been enough... No you can't get into the GB anymore, but you can probably buy one in the classifieds when people receive them.

GH60 uses a ATmega32U4 (same as Teensy) controller, soldered directly to the PCB. So no Teensy required. :D

You don't need a Teensy for a GH60. A teensy is needed for a Phantom

We as organizers didn't order any extras, no.

But a couple of vendors ordered several to sell, and others will likely be selling their extras as well.

Quick question, we can have any key set to what we want with several layers iirc.
What functions are allowed on the keys, can I bind media player - play and such on keys?
What about multiple keys like pressing fn + p = home + refresh?

yes

What about multiple keys like pressing fn + p = home + refresh?

most custom keyboards do not have good support for full macro recording.
It is being developed/improved by hasu's tmk firmware project.
I think komar is also working on it, but I am not sure of the progress.

Ah very nice, thanks for the quick reply, the software to edit the keys, is it user friendly? It's not some DOS type ****fest where I have to study a 100 page PDF in order to change 1 key, right?
