So, will it support LEDS?

default i supports esc + wasd + poker arrows and maybe more.
the discussion above is about the addon module that will make it support full led backlighting.

So there will somehow be a support of backlighting???

That's the eventual plan, but until it's cone, there is no guarantee.

You could always lay some EL lighting under the keys.

You lost me at EL lighting, care to explain what it is, or give me some links to read up on  ;D ?

I am not trying to sound harsh but a large pool of resources and information about el lighting is available via google search and it would be best not to go that far off topic in this thread.
you could also open a new thread discussing el lighting and I am sure some members could explain it to you.

Look up EL Panel or EL wire, should give you all you need.

Just out of curiosity, were there a lot of order of the GH60 ISO 1.25x variant?

Look in the first post at the order confirmation sheet, there's the list of who ordered what in which amount.

Regarding 1.25 ISO, if you're curious about why...
I like the poker style but wanted ISO equivalent.
Wanted a layout that works with a "tray" and doesn't need any top cover like WKL or HHKB layouts.
Will be using a mapping that makes the r-shift/win/menu/ctrl keys arrow keys using the Fn key.
Based on that, 1.25 seemed preferable to me, to keep the keys evenly balanced.
I ordered 2, I don't think I would have done that for a ready-made poker/pure but will use both in different locations.
There's definitely something about being able to say you made (at least some of) it yourself!

Actually reason I was curious was because I missed the sign-up for the GH60 and hoped some peopöe who bought extra of this particular model of GH60 would be willing to sell :) But awesome story nevertheless!

I recently took over someone's order for a GH60 without assembly service. This will be my first time doing something like this. Is there existing documentation on how to assemble everything? or will some be provided? would hate to screw it up.

If your PCB has pre - installed smd's its not hard to do the switches & led's. All you need is the basic soldering gear & experience. You can practice and get good skill by de-soldering and resoldering some junk-out dated electronics. Also there probably be a thread about the build some time soon.

Find some cheap Cherry boards on Ebay to practice Desoldering and re-soldering. They have 4 points to desolder which will give you a lot of practice. Plus you will get some switches and stabilizers while you're at it.

A Wyse PCE keyboard will work too but they only have 2 desolder points and the spacebar stabilizer isn't compatible with the GH60.

I'm purchasing a mini-B USB cable for the GH60 since I don't have one at the moment, and I'm getting confused by the number of necessary "pins". Looking at Monoprice, would this cable work?

i'm really upset that i missed this. is there likely to be a big markup when people start selling their extra boards? i don't know how these things usually go.

There will be some that try to profit, but most will sell it for what they have into it. At least that's what I've seen from other group buys. There are bound to be people who bought one (or more) PCBs too many.

you might see the prices range a little because the sellers will include the price they paid for shipping to them in the sale cost. but most won't try to profit from them.
