Did anyone mention that the numpad needs a 1x "+" key for 1800 and other boards compatibility?

I don't think orders are open at this point. However, if you stick around Friday, the 4th, when people begin dropping out of the group buy you can get their orders.

Just poking my head in. Less than 12 hours until payments are due.

Hopefully we get some more payments in. I'd like to cut that 20% drop out rate down.

Oh, I haven't actually looked at the numbers, but everyone's been saying that's the expectant rate.

On another note, if your name is Steven Ward, and you just paid your invoice, please PM me. I apparently sent you an invoice, but I cannot find your order in google docs, which means I have no way of matching your email to your GH handle. I'll have to re-enter your info manually, which isn't a problem, just shoot me a PM!

Everybody else, pay yo' ****.

We have had a couple ErgoDox drop out, if you'd like to add one to your order, please do. I will be buying any short of 50, because I know I can sell 'em, and having them on hand will most likely convince me to buy an ErgoDox. But there's still time to modify your order, if you want to tack on one.

I'd prefer to not make huge changes to orders, so it's easy to match invoices to google docs, but we can make it work.

I missed this GB as I was on a vacation when it started. If dropouts remain I would be happy to jump in for 1x all the packs I need to stock a full ErgoDox. one of each set. I will pay as soon as I get word.

If Ergodoxs dropped down to below 50 then I'm interested in picking one up. But I prefer to spend as little money as possible and there are other people lined up for an ergodox. So what I'm saying is, if nobody is claiming them when the invoices are due then I'll chip in.

Alright, guys! Payments are all in, and tallied. Unpaid invoices have been cancelled, and removed from my master list, and the order has been sent to SP!
Waiting right now for a final price from SP, which I will double check against my numbers, and then pay.

I had to add in my own funds for a few, but the Charity buy in came to
2 full keyboard sets (Alpha set, Mod set, Numpad, Tsangan, ISO and Gamer Pack)
and 4 Ergodox sets (2 with Alpha sets, and 2 with Deep Dish Gamer packs for alpha keys)

All of these 6 sets will be auctioned. They will first go to recouping any losses on my end (which may very well happen, seems we might have underestimated shipping from SP, given how much heavier SA caps are) and every cent past covering my own ass goes straight to GH!

On top of that, I bought 5 Ergodox kits for myself, all of them with blank Deep Dish caps, which ensured we got the 50 mark in Ergodox, as well as the 100 tier for the Gamer Pack, which will help to cover shipping from SP.

Once I pay (which should be within the next 24 hours) we wait 4 weeks for production, and then shipping, sorting, and sending back out to you guys.
2 months from now everyone should have keycaps in hand!

Here's the final numbers for the order:
Alpha set: 204
Modifier set: 181
Numpad set: 121
Tsangan: 104
Ergodox kit: 50
ISO set: 25
Gamer pack: 100

Now. We need to find an easy way for everyone to send me their shipping address.
This'll be messy, with 118 orders in, but we'll sort it out. Chances are I'll just post here next week for everyone to PM me with an accurate shipping address, and update it as I get them. Then, after most people have sent me them, go back and PM the stragglers.

You're on the home stretch buddy.  Plus the comments here are ONLY interested suggestions and nothing more.  Because no one's done a Group Buy themselves you will get every type of advice from what their Grand-mothers told them down to their local Grocer, letting you know how easy it can be done ??? .

Please don't take offense because ONLY the person running the Group Buy knows what needs to be done.  In regards to finding out everyone's delivery address, no worries just send out an email/pm requesting that.  I know you've got well over 180 customers here so that will become one of the major headaches matching every order up to the addresses coming into your pm box.

You can always ask Matt3o on how it was done, he's a good sort always willing to give valid advice relating to G.B.s

I'd argue that popping popcorn -is- making popcorn. To draw a distinction between the two, you would need to redefine what "Making popcorn" is, if it is not synonymous with "popping popcorn"

Just nailing down specifics with Melissa. Making sure we aren't missing any keys in the order, and that the numbers all match up. Should have the order paid in full tomorrow or the day after. Unfortunately having email traffic from opposite sides of the globe is hindering us here.

Any 1800 users want to split the cost of adding appropriate "+"  and "-" keys for the numpad? Should be around $110 total from what I talked with Melissa about. I can foot around 50% of the cost, but sharing the burden would be ideal. At a minimum we just get a 1x "+" and have the "-" in the wrong profile (I think some other keys will also be the wrong profile on 1800 layout, but currently there is no 1x +)

I might be willing to help with this, but I don't fully understand what you mean by the $110.  Is that the price to include it in every order or just the few that would want it?

I would chip in for the 1800 keys (really want to use these on one of those redline alu-skinned 1800 replicas).  50% would be fine, but I would of course prefer to pay less.

EDIT: and I would also be interested in any further changes which improve 1800-compatibility, depending on how things work out.

Most definitely.  I'll be in this if it HELPS to improve cap compatibility on our 1800's.  Till now, this golden keyboard always gets ignored when it comes to a key-cap fitout, lets hope it finally gets noticed here.

I'll be willing to chip in a bit, depending on how much it comes out per person, as I don't think I'll be using this set on my 1800, but who knows.

To be clear, he's talking about a $110 total, to include a 1x + key to every numpad set.

Also, it didn't occur to me until yesterday, we didn't meet the MOQ for the modifier sets, which puts us at $34.28 per mod set, as opposed to 32.83, which is what I charged everybody for.

So now we're roughly $262 short. This wont prove to be a particularly large problem until we go to ship everything out. I didn't leave a lot of lee-way, as I only factored about 1.50 per order in the shipping from SP, so everyone should have paid almost exactly what it'll cost to actually get the items to them, except for the charity buy in.

Now, we will certainly get enough to recoup my losses from charity, but then, that's taking away from the amount that ends up going to GH.

So, if anyone wants to make a relatively large donation to the GB, you'll be directly boosting the amount GH gets after the auction. If you want to buy a significant amount of extra keysets, that's another way to boost this whole thing.

I don't have a good answer here, except to pull it from the charity buy in. I'm not going to go through and invoice 139 people for a buck fifty each, so unless someone has a very intensely brilliant plan, I'm out of ideas.

Also, don't forget the numpad comes with extra blank keycaps. But I'm biased on the matter, not having the board in question. So if you want to combine an effort and get a 1x + key added, cool. You can send it to me and I'll make sure melissa adds it to the numpad set.

That sucks!

I can't contribute that much in one shot but I'd be willing to split the cost between 4 people or more. Hopefully, at least 4 other people would want to split the $262.

I want to see this buy go off as planned.  Put me down for at least part of the cost.  I'm assuming this also includes the two G80-1800 keycaps mentioned above?

No worries count me in.  Let's get this finished once and for all.

Don't order 194 mods at $34.28 ($6650.32), it is $84 less to buy 200 at $32.83 ($6566). Unless fewer than 194 people actually paid.

Also it was about $56 ($55.66 to be exact for 121 numpads) to add the 1x "+" key to the numpad for everyone, so I assume it'd be close to another $56 to add the appropriate "-" as well.

These are the following keys we would need to have an exact profile compatibility with Cherry 1800 layout probably totaling close to $400-500 to all numpads and mod kits
Row 2 - Delete, End, PgDn
Row 3 - 1x "+", "-"

Perhaps a "separate" group buy to just piggy back off the quantities of this one and ship with these keys? I can do it in a new thread to alleviate confusion and for more people to see it.

If we're thinking of an extra kit, any chance I could ask for a Row 5 1x Enter key?   ;D

I know, not a lot of people would ever use this, but the Marquardt keyboard has a really non-standard number pad.
