I'm not sure how much these plastic cases will be, but let's just say $20. The other cases (that I know about) that are being designed for the GH60 are all aluminum and estimated to be in the $150+ range. Some probably closer to $200-250. Even the basic aluminum Poker/Pure cases by Vortex, imsto, treble318, and oneproduct have all been about $100. Does that influence your decision at all?

I'll take one in white, assuming it's not like the white eggshell case that the LE Race came in. It'll chip and deteriorate if its like that one :(

I'm sorry to inform you that the case is still like the race le case..

Is there a MOQ? What number were they looking for, because with the GH60 on the horizon, I would imagine that these will be in high demand soon.

I think some people would be interested in getting these for the GH60. The GH60-specific cases will be very expensive, so without them GH60 is just for Poker owners, and not everybody has one or wants to take its case and throw away the PCB.

If the profit margin were attractive for a vendor, I'm sure one of the vendors here might be willing to purchase such a quantity for resale. Especially with the DIY projects upcoming, including the GH60, there will be a market for that quantity.

I was excited about white, but then not if it's painted. Why? If making an order direct from factory they can't have injection mold in the desired color?

That would be a shame  :( . The one we have on hand can always be painted, thus why bother buying a new one painted, maybe a black one as a backup, in case the world end comes  :D .

I am just hoping the white paint which is used it kind of metallic, so it looks like an aluminium case.

We have Vortex scared now, that our little DIY project is going to cut into their sales. So why would they want to provide inexpensive housings for what they consider a competing product line?

vortex cuts their own sales with sub quality products and low stock.  i would never have ventured into building my own boards (something i really like doing now) if they had made better boards that were available for someone with a hole burning in his wallet.

I think they want to sell keyboards, not cases. If they give us cases they are most likely reducing the amount of their upcoming 60% boards they could potentially sell.Sorry for my bad English,I hope it makes sense :)

Disappointing. I don't know the reasons for isolating the GH60 project as being the excuse for lack of fulfilment for this IC, but even if there were only 20 cases available, I'm sure they would find 20 happy homes.

^This.

Personally, I've accumulated two Poker PCBs and stainless steel backplates, so I need some sort of case to make these into functional keyboards. This option looked like the cheapest one on offer, guess I'll have to scout the classifieds to see if anyone is selling off their used cases.

:D

GH60 is stated as the reason, because it IS the reason. What other keyboard are you gonna put in this case, a Pure Pro or Tex Beetle?

We should just close this thread if its not happening. No need to be reminded of Vortex's jealousy at its own incompetency at building keyboards every time I get on this site.

Yes, sorry.
He started the IC saying he would be able to sell a "few" cases, then 100, and then later he said that 150 was kinda too low.
I'm new in GH and I don't wanna be rude but it's weird, IMHO ...
