Update: having typed more, I have to revise what I said earlier: I can definitely hear the difference now.  The dampening is noticeable, and I like it.

Thanks for the update!  Might have to look into this.

Wouldn't that be ever so slightly distracting?

Unique though :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

It is sort of distracting when the room is very dark. However when you turn the brightness of the backlight down, it stays a dim red.

Halverson's crap bag has these two windowed DSA caps. This cap was double shot with the Cherry style window. The other cap is a circular window in a blue DSA cap. Thank you for the goodies Halvy!

had to gimpshop the color to make it look correct as the camera cannot at all capture it without natural light.

Added some rubber-foam liner to the bottom of one of my Filcos, between the PCB and the case for sound dampening.  Also swapped the copper cover to a spare cover I had, which I just painted pearl turquoise

Nice work on the cables guys.

Glod, I hope you don't mind that I feel like the proud uncle every time I see that stunning beauty of yours.  it looks like you're using a tray now. Is it because tenting makes the keyboard too high? Does it retract? If so, how much clearance do you have considering the height of the keyboard?

the tray the keyboard is on? its a new desk i got awhile back, its one of those arm-type trays that can move up and down, side to side, tilt, as well as slide under the desk; the ergodox w/ ergodock is too big to slide under completely but i love the tray because it allows me to adjust height and tilt and adds extra space on my desk which is only 24" deep.

Got some mail today from Badcop :D.  Oddly enough this is my first GH key.  I've gotten cc's before gh keys...I think I'm doing it wrong.
And I went and lubed my switches and spring swapped from 65g to 62g last night.

took a leaf from your book and tried out the rubber liner thing in my ergodox. It does sound different, and I like it too. the sound is a little more solid compared to before (slightly hollow thunk before that was actually not bad), but now it's even better. thanks!

Nothing in bottom row matches my Das.  It is obviously 1.25 mods but the WYSE set has an 8u spacebar with a big ass ctrl with a 1u alt key.  So I wanted the columns to match with the exception of the Friends and family keys

Wow I was literally going to do this but you beat me to it. I have a brick that I got during KeyCon that's like almost an exact match to imsto blue

Go for it Sifo! :thumb: Just do a test fit before applying super glue.  Check that the donor stem is long enough so that when pressed the LEGO brick doesn't rub against or make contact with the switch top housing.  In my experience, I had to sand down the LEGO brick since the stem wasn't long enough.
