Added a touch of color.

It looks great!!! It's amazing what a single red esc key can do to the overall look of a keyboard or two  :p

We all take our caps off to the caps lock lock.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

From my perspective I would have to say the white one does. It's closer to the color/shade of the case.

Good looking board BTW. Dreaming of owning a case like that one day.

I want to buy a full keycap set the same as this for the board in my signature:

But I want a different colour scheme. Maybe had red instead of green, or maybe grey instead of green. Can anyone find a keycap set that matches this? I can't manage to find one.

But you might lurk around that thread in case someone decides to drop out after the last moment, or keep an eye on Classifieds around the time they ship.

Oh okay. So there's no known website where I can just get a colour scheme with 2 colours!?! One colour where the green is in the photo provided, and one colour where the white is.

You can order a set of custom color caps from keycapsdirect.com but you are going to pay a lot of money if you just want the one set done.  There are also a couple sites that tend to order extra sets from our group buys for selling on their site but for the life of me I can't think of them off hand.

Thanks for that link.

What's the difference between ABS and PBT? All I want is a 2 coloured full keycap set!

The Standard Double Shot ABS Sets, Full White with Black Text is looking the best so far, but it is $60. Will it 100% fit the Cherry MX keyboard in my signature? Maybe the ABS White Base Set would be good, does anyone know what is included in it?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to get this right.

I'm pretty sure that TK has a non standard bottom row. And if memory serves correctly the spacebar is an odd size.

ABS vs PBT is a long going debate her. ABS generally has a smoother or almost wet feel to them.  PBT generally has more texture to it.  PBT also does not develop a shine to them near as quick as ABS but is not generally available for double shots.  Just dye sublimation for long term legends available for PBT.  As far as cost for a custom set from keycapsdirect it will be prohibitively expensive for just one set.  Hence all the group buys here.

If you are looking for just black/white sets you can probably pick one up from the classifieds.  You need 60 posts to create a thread in that section but no limit to purchase or post in someone else's thread.

Looking at Cooler Masters website it does look like a non standard bottom row.  The left side looks like 1.5/1/1.25 so replacement caps are going to be difficult just because of that.  Not so much for the modifiers as that will just require mods from both tsangan and moogle kits but finding a spacebar will be difficult.  If the mounts are in standard places for that size of spacebar you could dig around on kecapsdirect.com.  somewhere on their site they actually list what caps they have in stock and they do have a bunch of odd sized space bar molds.  Caps that are in stock are cheap.  I think 2.5 a cap for space bars.

Added some paint.

The bottom row measurements:
Left side is 1.5/1/1.25
Spacebar is 6.5
Right side is 1.25/1/1/1.5

That paint-job is amazing

Very well done. Maybe it's just me but that would look even more amazing with some white keycaps on it.

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to get this right.

Oh okay. Thanks for all the info! I think I'll have a look around the classifieds now :)

Thanks for the kind words!  :-*

Nice ;)  Is that Rust-Oleum's Galaxy Blue?  Been meaning to get that at some point.

Yep it's Galaxy Blue. Your painting thread helped me quite a bit along the way, much appreciated.

Very glad to hear that--your case came out beautifully.

I think I've decided to buy the blank white PBT set and the blue modifier set from here: http://keycapsdirect.com/marketplace.php

Good choice?

I can type without looking however I've never typed on a keyboard without legends, I'm not sure how I'll go.

I find that I can type without looking just fine, but it's those times when my hands are off the keyboard, like to enter a credit card number while holding the card, or whatever other excuse where you have to have your right hand on a mouse, clicking different entry fields--in those times, it can be challenging to find the right cap for symbols on the number row quickly.  I'm using a Nyan Cat set on one of my keyboards, and it definitely slows me down in those cases.  I make a mistake about 20% of the time with numbers and like 60% of the time with symbols.

Go for it, should look pretty slick and you can always pull up a keyboard layout map if needed
