That actually look s surprisingly good! :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Thanks.  I've been trying to figure out ways of getting a good sand cast since I love the way it looks.

My first time ever soldering, desoldering, opening switches, lubing switches, swapping springs, taking keyboard out of case... everything went smoothly!

Finally got around to modding my off centered caps lock and added it to my poker:

Moved the stem and placed it "at center" by free hand, turned out pretty good

Sure is nice when everything is matching, the cap is sitting a bit to high for that row because there is glue inside the stem that is blocking the switchstem.
Does not bother me to much as the "A" key is also the wrong profile for some odd reason and it matches that one.

I did have a look at this by ripster: http://imgur.com/a/3mWPe, but I ended up doing quite differently.
I reused the stem from the actual caps lock, used a small piece of a razor to get it loose. Unfortunately I didn't manage to perfectly retain the angle of the stem, but some extra glue fixed that.
Opted to not use a jig because I was to lazy to make one and just placed the stem by free hand. Used cyanoacrylate to glue it in place, not really optimal for this application, but it was what I had available.
If you are feeling very confident you could use pure acetone to meld the pieces together permanently assuming that the cap is made out of abs plastic.

Yup, the old school type you use to line up cocaine or cut your wrists with. Had to modify it a bit to make it fit inside the cap, then I used a plier and pushed it through the base of the stem. It was not like a hot knife through butter, but manageable. Would probably be a lot easier to just harvest a stem from another cap, I just ocd'ed a bit and wanted to use the original one.

You buried your keyboard!!
