I'm not sure, maybe the folks that have attended meetups could elaborate on that.  I tend to avoid both flowery language both online and in real life.

I also suspect that I act really goofy in real life and I do not realize it.

I'm called Rowdy because I don't talk much.  Unless someone IRL asks me something about keyboards, then I over-inform.

They have learned not to ask about keyboards.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

i'm the same.

I'm Canadian
go back to your side of the pond!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I'm bi-polar so it depends when you catch me really! If i'm on a high I'm the life of the party but if I'm on the other end of the scale I tend  to be very withdrawn.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I am not sure what my personality is online.

My actual self is an educated, experienced, and very opinionated old white guy living in the suburbs with my wife and teenage kids.
"The post-mortem blame game has already started, here as well as elsewhere: Harris did this, or didn’t do that, or Biden should have, shouldn’t have, whatever. Bull****.
This wasn’t Harris’s fault. She ran a campaign based on reality, while Trump, and the GOP in general, did a con job on America. And America bought it, because too many of us couldn’t face reality and didn’t want to remember history.
The GOP victory was a triumph of illusion."

Irl, I am just a nice guy with way too many hobbies, a wife, kids, pets, and a good education.  I tend to be the guy that tries to make everyone happy (even when they just want to be pissed off).
