Matt30 -- thank you for all your hard work on this IC. From this end it's been very exciting to see your progress on this project and I am thrilled with the results.

I'll definitely be purchasing many, many kits.

Thank you.

if you refer to the mini it has some weird sized spacebar I believe. don't think we can find a replacement. It seems 5.25 or 5.5. Anyway its own black one goes very well with our brown.

there's no replacement for 5.5 spacebar, you have to use the original one.

When do you think this gb can start, and if it has, are you still doing a second color (blue? :D) after a certain number of people have ordered the brown set? Perhaps I might as well take a brown set :P

Take your time in getting this done right.  No sense in rushing into this if the final design is missing any parts to really make it a superb Key-set.

So far it really looks wonderful, something right out of the 80's presented for most keyboards today (MX-style).  You should be proud of yourself on this one.

this looks fantastic. SP's DSA profile is a very intriguing one for a number of reasons that we just haven't explored much yet. hope this moves through ordering and collection quickly; can't wait to see the results!

I really don't want to derail this group buy but I would love to have a retro kit like this. Colors are freaking amazing IMO:

Don't worry when this Coffee and Cream one finishes I have a feeling someone else might pick this one up, I don't know if Matt3o wants to keep going on with this colour/style though?  There's a lot of work that he has to do all free to us but not for him.  No one knows what it's like to organize a Group Buy and Design of new keys for SP, other than the experts who have already done previous Group Buys.

I have a feeling this year is going to be the year for old-style key-sets.

that's awesome, everyone agree!

we chose brown because people picked brown in the interest check and Round4 already has spherical blue. two very good reasons actually. I'm not going back on this point.

I asked SP how much would cost to make tooling for the DSA spacebar, would be awesome to have the DSA spacebar and if we reach a high volume would be totally possible.

If the set is successful I'm all in for new legends, new colors and new space bars. At the moment I just want to reach a good tier and that is possible only by reducing the options (actually I'd also like to remove plum :P but people seem to like it... so let's keep it).

A small correction to the C64 nostalgia layout.

SP can't do "f 1" (lowercase-f space number) like in the original C64 keyboard, so they will be standard function keys (F1).

tooling for DSA 6u would be $800, not the most famous space bar size, but still

All up to you Matt3o, don't let anyone try and pour mud over your design considerations.  If you think it'll lower the price point downwards for everyone then do it.

Just offer them the bare essentials only if they whinge and complain and want more stuff and are not willing to pay for it, they don't need this key-set.

Quite true, people on this forum are extremely terrible at being patient and calm........when it comes to buying a Key-set.  I should know I panic the most when it comes to ordering anything from here.

I don't think this will will help those of us, including myself, that are impatient, but we have received a wonderful gift from kaporkle.

He has been creating CG visualization of key cap color combinations. He was kind enough to create a 3D design of Poker keyboard and not one to stop from looking a gift horse in the mouth, I also asked if would would be so kind as to design a spherical key cap as well.  I'm happy to say that kaporkle went to to great lengths to model the cylindrical key cap and mockup the colors chosen for this future group buy on a KBC Poker.

It's not the exact font, but it's pretty damn nice and I think you'll agree..

I will try for a full-size 104 mock-up by next weekend.

Thank you jdcarpe. I found this image in a google search, probably from here. Just to be clear, this is the font that will be used on the caps, yes?
