unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

To my eyes at least, a plain white case would look good. That render with with a pink case a few pages back also looks nice.

My pink keyboard (identical to this rendering) is still crying that it's not getting these caps.

I went with a "chrome" finish on mine.  Looks basically like polished aluminum.  I wanted to push as much of the 80's Miami Vice theme as I could.  Also did a teal cable.  I do agree though that white or a pearl white would look really good as well.

Yep, that's what I think so too. I had gotten a used DK9008 non-Shine, spray painted it pure white in preparation for these awesome key caps. :thumb: Can't wait! ;D

right guys, absolutely final warning, im doing all the wrapping up with this gb today

if anyone wants a set, message me today
if anyone hasnt paid for their set, message me today
if you havent been invoiced for your single gh keycaps yet, dont worry, i havent done that yet, there is no deadline to pay for that but invoices will go out for them some time next week

a few facts
over 150 sets have been paid
the secret will be announced soon
only 4 people who had a geekhack account and werent just ordering the gh key 2 pack denied the optional sorting fee
4 people used the notes section on the order form and made me smile

Sure thing  :thumb:

I used duplicolor "Chrome" over white primer.  I didn't use a clear coat though because it was tuning the color into a dull grey.
Here it was when I first finished it.  Unfortunately, everywhere you touched it, it would get darker.  I ended up using meguiars cleaner wax to polish the case, and now it looks like a bright silver with a pearl finish.  I like it.

before:
30378-0

After:  (put some teal and pink caps together to get an idea of what the combo will look like).  Also, my QFR is currently my random cap holder.
30380-1
30382-2

Oh, and in the Miami theme, here is my golf attire for today's tournament.  ;D
30384-3
The shorts are brighter than they look in the photo (it's overcast today).  When I walked out of the closet, my wife just smiled and shook her head.

I am still considering having the case vacuum chromed.  From what I can tell, it is a bit pricey ($75 to $150), but maybe a group buy? would bring the price down. I have a quote request with Chrome Tech USA to get real pricing.

ok we are all closed, someone lucky got a payment in whilst i was asleep, so a certain other groupbuy runner officially gets the last miami set

if you havent paid, im sorry, i cant keep this pending forever, its not fair on anyone else

so far this gb has been great to run, we smashed any targets i thought we would reach for running a gb for such a short period of time

we have some nice extras planned as well and a few complete surprises, thank you so much to everyone that has taken part and made it run so smooth, i just hope this continues through production and order completion, all orders will be moved off of pending in the next day or so or deleted if payments werent completed

another gb is coming soon guys

Thank you Bunny!

The order form was a pleasure to use, and you have been responsive and generous throughout.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
