Hello Geekhack.

My name is Tanghus, and I am a serial lurker. With my first IC in this hobby, I have come to tempt you with a keyset.

The set was originally conceived as a project for the Danish community, and while initial response in the community has been good - Signature Plastic's (SP) prices surely have not.

The colourway is definitely inspired and if you are acquainted with Danish culture, or god forbid a Dane, you will know the inspiration.

The kitting is based on similar small DCS runs seen in the community to keep decent compatibility while not breaking the bank (or at least not most of it).
The pricing seen in the IC form is based surely on initial quotes from SP with no thought to making a profit on the run and even taking money out of my own pocket. Which is a pretty dumb idea. I agree.

The beautiful kitting render was later brutally mutilated by yours truly in Photoshop to add a 1U R1 Backspace.

Should you wish to follow the recipe at home, the SP colours used are:
Base:
Legends: YDJ
Alphas: VCS
Modifiers: VDR

Alternate modifiers:
Legends: WFV
Shift: RFP
Ctrl:  OBP
Alt: BGW

Pricing:
Absolutely.

These are the raw quotes from SP without new molds. New molds are $50 a piece, which is pretty reasonable.
Additional cost of 3-4 molds shown in brackets should be added to the price.
20 sets - $196.73 per set (Additional moldcost: $7.5-10)
25 sets - $162.25 per set (Additional moldcost: $6-8)
50 sets - $141.56 per set (Additional moldcost: $3-4)
75 sets - $100.17 per set  (Additional moldcost: $2-2.67)

R1 1U Backspace

The above pricing is raw manufacturing cost from SP and not even shipping from SP is included.

Since I received some good feedback and good questions both off site and in this topic, I will try and follow up on these here, as well as clarify some points in the IC.

I will break down cost of the IC further in the OP as that was a question in Discord.

No plan for Icon modifiers.

I do not plan to run this set with the current pricing at SP. I saw recent quotes for another set and got my hopes up.

SP's current pricing needs to change before I am hopeful of this set running.

Pant A (ESC novelty)
1U R1 '* (Danish ANSI split BS support)
1.5U R2 '* (Danish ANSI support)

I'm a big fan of the design! The renderer seems sus (if it's not who I think it is, this is going to be very embarrassing) though.

I'm not a fan of the quotes you got, even if it's justified on SP's side of things... I wish it was cheaper. Nothing against DCS or SP, but for me, it's a tough pill to swallow regarding retail pricing. Just my two cents though. And of course, it's nothing against you, Tanghus, there's only so much you can do

Hope all this gets worked out, since the color scheme looks very nice. SP really needs to lower their prices, especially considering how they are like 4th place rn in the high end keycap manufacturing game. I can't imagine they are doing great rn.
