The 2DS does look a little weird IMO. I wonder if it sucks to hold really.

Well, if you're just planning to play Pokemon I guess 2DS would be sufficient.
I really wanna try Animal Crossings as I've heard very good reviews about it.
Mario Kart 7 as well.  :)

Heh, good ol' pokemon blue and red is good enough for me! Especially on emulator and a wireless gamepad laying on the couch whilst fast forwarding the game in 16000% speed, grinding experience :D

I want to battle someone, but they're making us wait until December 27 for the ability to transfer Pokemon from older Gens, so I pretty much haven't touched the game after obtaining all the clothing and whatnot.

It's also kinda a bummer that there is no World Tournament, Join Avenue, Rental Battles, or any of the other features that BW2 had.  The Battle Maison is a bit dull compared to the slew of stuff we got last time.

I got something better after more rerolling

iirc the 40 with quiet wasn't a max roll, and 33 on spD and 63 on HP was too low of a roll

I ended up with a max roll on spA 38 without bonus nature and a possible max roll on spD 38 with bonus nature and I think 65HP

The torchic took way longer then this but that I had base stats to refer to so it was less work

55 hours in now, having an absolute blast.
I dont care for Shiny's and/or perfect IV and EV much. I do understand the why and how's. I just don't care for competitive battling.
I'm more of a completionist, obsessed with it actually. I need to own all 718, currently at 283. (inaccurate number, because evo's etc. need to recatch a lot.

Maybe I'll get into battling after that, anyway. I'm having tons of fun collecting pokémon.

I havn't played black/white 1 and 2, but I have played every other one before that. and this one is probably one of the best generations since Gen II.

Sidenote: if you want my friendcode just PM me. I'm not sure offhand what my friend safari has, but it has a magmar for sure!

da fuq is this, u gotta know math to play pokemon now?

BACK TO THE BLUE AND RED DAYS
This was back in Blue and Red too, that game was way ahead of it's time, or too behind, considering how dumbed down games are these days

There were hidden values every time you battle a pokemon and you would gain EVs it wasn't till later people found out how to properly min max the game. So if you didn't know everytime you battle a pidgey you would gain 1 speed EV and every 4 EV is one stat point, so to max a stat you need 252 which means you need to fight pidgey 252 times no more no less (you had a +/- 2 points as leeway)

They made generation VI (x & y) very easy, as you can do the mini game to EV train before you had to do the math on paper and if you miscounted you were pretty ****ed, they also adjusted the max value for EVs too so there is zero counting unless you want a specific HP amount for lets say a snorlax

What I was doing in the picture was rolling for starting stats, you would do the same in all the older ones too, min maxing is where the fun is

Agree the game is crazily easy this gen. I hate the new Exp Share mechanic. On the plus side I'm glad they fix the EV problem so you dont screw yourself over when you get to 255 instead of 252. Usually I only played to get to know about new pokemons, new moves, and breeding then I just go straight for mIRC or smogon nowaday for competitive battles.

Also tsangan, it is possible to get perfect IVs pokemon now through breeding, you only need to get the right nature.

EV screwed was the worst, used to take a day to EV train a pokemon now it takes 40 minutes?

Destiny knot lets to pass down 5 stats so technically it's possible with a good roll, they also made nature pass down 100% too so breeding is way way way easier then before

I hear that Pokemon found in the friend safari have two perfect IVs, but I still need to find out whether, for example, two people that give the ghost type will have different ghost Pokemon, or if each type has the same defined list.

I've found one alone, but I can't remember the route.

Someone randomly challenged me to a single battle, so I played him with the in-game team I've been lugging around.  His Tyrantrum destroyed my Simisear, then my Swanna got revenge only to be taken out by his Mega Aerodactyl.  Somehow, my Vanilluxe managed to sweep both his remaining Mega Aerodactyl and Onix, so I won, woohoo!  I'm hoping that there is an option for a flat, 6 vs. 6 battle.

On a different note, why are all you guys playing as chicks?  Every single one of you chose a female character :-).

Legendaries will have 3 perfect IVs (confirmed Xerneas and Yveltal, not sure about Mewtwo, roaming birds and the other).
Friend's Safari pokemons will have 2 perfect IVs, this is why ditto farm is top of the food chain. Capture a whole bunch of them and chain breed while holding power items you can get 6 perfect IVs pokemon.

Not yet, wait for Pokémon bank to come out somewhere late December. (Depending on where you are in the world.)
