Hi Everyone,

With Linjär in progress and soon concluding, I want to move on to my next project - a N9-U9 GMK set! This is heavily inspired by Carbon Boneyard, and I have made sure T0mb3ry was OK with it.

The base kit is as follows:

Love this. Don’t personally want to see the UK keys removed but def glad to see ISO in the base

Surprisingly enough some people still respect others' efforts and rather try and ask if they mind them using a colour scheme that's similar/the same as something done previously, in order to foster a nice environment between everyone involved. Imagine not asking for permission and proceeding to be fully discredited by 80%+ of the community instead of having the foresight to just be respectful in the first place.

I wonder which one of the two outcomes is more desirable; that said and on topic, good luck with the set Emir! I was quite fond of the Boneyard look for Carbon but I went with Ivory instead, now I can have both when you choose to run this. Good job with the execution!

Same here. It would give the set a simplistic and refined look. Plus, there aren't many GMK sets that offer full icon mod support in the main kit. Might help the set stand out even more.

GMK Signal/blueonblack is a good execution of this, maybe it could be based off that

Signal didn't include icons for the nav cluster section or the Num Lock key, unfortunately. Only the 60% section. GMK Red Honey does have full icon mods though.

As for icon bottom row, I feel the set stays more classy and timeless with it being text for now - I will be open for feedback though!

As for accents, that idea did cross my mind, but at the same time it feels like there are a lot of compatible options as U9 is so popular - 9009 or any other classic colorway.

N9 left, U9 right. It might not be coupled with N9, but still CR is pretty close if it's legends (N9 can look like CR depending on lighting). I will keep it in mind though and perhaps offer an accent kit or include in the base (depending on quote from GMK)

The ISO-key is on purpose, the other one is one of many flaws in the render. Don't worry, I will get it right - thanks for pointing out the mistakes!

N9 is the same as the mods for Dolch and Coniferous, and base color for Skidata and Terminal for those unfamiliar.

So I have GMK Q:01 and Kekkon dolch on my drak grey no.1 which is N9/L9/CP. Photo kinda sucks, but you get the idea.

Feels like they are both black but just different hue. Not sure if picking one over the other would make a difference, if any.

Ha!  I did the same thing!  I think N9/L9 might read better than N9/U9

N9 is great.  It works better than CR on most black cases b/c CR is darker than most anodized black aluminum and CR is also has quite a bit more natural shine to it.

N9 is great.  It works better than CR on most black cases b/c CR is darker than most anodized black aluminum and CR is also has quite a bit more natural shine to it.

You can definitely tell the difference between the L9 and CP legends on the mods and alphas in the photo. I kinda dig the L9 legends as opposed to the U9.

Look man, there are dozens of us out there who like the all-icon look!

But seriously, I do understand that it's not the most popular choice for GMK sets but they aren't really offered that often either. And when they are they can end up being very pricey because they are in a side kit (GMK Carbon for example), which lowers interest even more. There's healthy support for icon mods in other profiles but it never really took off for GMK sets. But, it never hurts to ask.

The idea did cross my mind to run full icons, but I honestly think that it looks better with a text bottom row. For my first set, I don't want to take huge risks - keep it elegant, classy, sophisticated and simple - later on if I am successful, I will be much more open to experimentation!
