Ergodox - Raising/Suspending your Ergodox
« on: Mon, 26 August 2013, 09:36:38 »
Hello,

I posed this question in another Ergodox post, but never got a real response.  The question is in regards to raising your Ergodox.

I'm curious about how to raise your Ergodox.  I've seen some users using 'Kinesis Freestyle V3' and I'm curious if this is easy or even worth it?  Whats the best way to do this?  How do you like your Ergodox? Raised? Angled?

Best,
Kent

I've been playing with small various sized acrylic discs with a M3 sized hole in the center for the past couple of hours and finally got it correct.

I'll post pics soon.

II made these feet to adjust the vertical angle of the ErgoDox to make it even more comfortable. Got various sized discs and different sized hex bolts and then balanced it out according to my comfort level:

You can see that on each hand, I am missing one bumpon on one feet, the ebay dealer only sent two sets of 4 instead of 3

The two most common ways are using the kinesis lifts or adding longer bolts  to raise units to suit your preference. Then you will likely add rubber pads to make it non slip and non marring.

I'm surprised more people haven't made  an Ergodock like Glod's.  Simple design, tent to your spec's, simple woodworking and built in wrist rest.

I really like Glod's thing but I already am getting the 'full hand' case for my Ergo so I'm not sure that all is necessary.  Although, I could create that tilted base to hold the ergo suspended. Seems simple enough.

I wonder how he was able to attach the Kinesis?

He said it in the post and one of the pictures: velcro.

Also, I did reply to your post in the other thread. Use cardboard, free at your postal office.
