I can't even find decent lacquers here since they're all but illegal in California.

I'm not worried, just joking around.  I'd love to have my stuff sooner rather than later because I want to try my Qazpad, but I understand how crazy things can get.

Nobody ever gives me tracking :(
i can give you some tracking!
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Did this happen? :)

I'd say minimum 10 days closer to two or three weeks max.

Shipped about 50 packages today.  Tracking numbers being sent soon.

Now all that remains to be sent is keychains and stickers.

Just when I thought that I had a good day (shipped a bunch of stuff, got most of the switch stickers, got my 1800 running without a hitch), I was reminded of how much my life sucked and I was playing it on legendary level. My acrylic workshop's owner got a heart attack while I was in Joburg, and passed away. Thus means they had to shut down shop, and one of the workers there, that I had befriended also went back to his village. I do wish my condolences to the owner, however I had acrylic sheets worth $500 sitting in his shop, which was sold by his next of kin, along with all the stuff inside.

I had planned on selling the remaining acrylic sheet ASAP to have funds for shipping the 200+ packages I have, but alas :(. This _DOES_NOT_ mean the shipping will get delayed, just that I will have to find alternate sources of funds, I will be looking to go the post office sometime later this week, and ship more goods.

My life sucks :(

Very sorry to hear that. :( Any way you can contact the person that sold off your acrylic sheets?

The competition is so damn stiff, when I couldn't find the shop I recognise, I traced my steps and when I found the shop and tried to confirm with the new owner, he blatantly refused and heard a few harsh words from me, when I found out what actually happened.

These were acrylic sheets I had bought earlier for the various custom orders, QazPad, GHPad, etc. So yeah, that is $500 I just lost. :(

Daaaaammmn.  Can't you claim against whoever inherited the business?  Had anything in writing like a work order with the former owner?

Haha, this is India, hradly anything is on paper. I don't even know the name of the owner of the shop. Nobody inherited business, the shop was sold by however inherited it, and there is some other shop over there. I don't think the business was even registered.

It s these little things, that add up and make things cheap to manufacture.

As if things were not difficult enough for me, well last week Friday there was a fire in my apartment and a lot of my stuff including keyboards, keyboard things, lots and lots of literature, computer, clothes and some other stuff were burnt beyond repair.

I am quite disturbed right now, and why I have been pretty much away from GH for the past week, only replying to few PMs.

This could mean a good time away from GH so I can just settle things and get my life back in order. It truly is sad, but I will try to be available while I can.

That is not good news.  A fire is probably one of the worst things that can happen.

At least you are safe and well, and able to post to let us know.

Hopefully things turn around for you now :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Most of it was older books, I've shifted to ebooks now.
