Finally got a chance to put my hands on the color chips.

As I anticipated they are very dark (and I totally love them). I will be updating the mockups and reduce the blue tint a bit.

The color bit that looks black is actually very dark gray, unfortunately my ****ty cam wasn't able to calibrate properly. This is a try on white background

Here the turquoise and yellow came out pretty well.

The end result will be a dark gray keyboard with a blue accent. I could pick more bluish dark grays, but honestly I prefer it "moon-less" sky.

The GITD on the other hand... REALLY glows!

The darker gray is a pretty neutral almost-black-gray.

The lighter gray has a very light cold tint in it. But turquoise add a pinch of light and blue to the whole.

Will the GB be the same as Granite where you will get the base set (alphas).   Then add what Mods you want etc.?

Gawd damn you Matt here I was content with what I have already paid for thus far in owning your designs, yet again you release something that tugs at my wallet.

I keep saying NO MORE DCS profiles and here we are with another brilliant DCS design  :o .

Dare I say it will include the extra rare 1800 keys with the SA or will it all be the same profile height ?

How reliant is the SA group buy on the success of DCS? Seems like the SA profile keysets do very well on average (Commando 23, Penumbra, Calm Depths, Hyperfuse) and it's a shame that it might not make production due to the success of DCS which may not be as sought after (despite what the poll in this thread says, 86 votes is hardly representative of the real number as MOQ is usually 100 anyway).

P.S: yes commodore group buy is doing poorly but i.m.o it's not nearly as appealing as the other SA sets I mentioned (3 colors (boring retro ones at that), high buy-in and very few add on options relative to your group buys))

I do not want SA to cannibalize DCS. As soon as DCS tips we will move on to SA. If it doesn't tip, SA will start anyway.

Ah respect, I figured that was the reasoning and I'm glad SA will continue on regardless, not that I have doubts about this one tipping but its nice to have some assurance either way :P.

SA will be the one to kill for  :thumb: .  Don't forget how popular DCS is here on Geekhack, hence it should tip easily.

That would be awesome.  I have always thought this set would look best in DSA.

I'm just not sure how many people there would be left to buy a DSA set after the DCS and SA GB's get finished.

Just count how many members are here on Geekhack and I'm sure they will cover all Group Buys involving this latest Matt3o creation.

Has he ever released a key-set that didn't make the tipping point on PMK?

I've seen quite a few people asking for an ergodox kit, but I'm not sure if they're all aware of the SA profile plans. Personally, I wouldn't be very interested in a DSA ergodox kit because I know that it will be offered with the SA run.

I've been keeping tabs on this thread and the comments on PMK, and it sounds like there's a significant amount more interested in what the SA profile set could offer (or maybe the people who want SA are just louder). I'm worried that the fact that DCS is being run first may derail the SA plans because not everyone interested in the set is following this thread.

Most of the mainstream keyboards out there that uses 1.5x control alt, 1x win like razers, corsairs, some cmstorm keyboards.

I'm thinking about this set, but I'd only be interested in it if the additional modifiers tipped with it. Is your order considered "all-or-nothing" on pimpmykeyboard? As in, if the keys I want don't make it I'm not stuck with the alphas and whatnot?

place your order, funds are reserved but not taker right away. 24h before the end of the GB contact SP if the additional modifiers don't tip.

as a side note, so far SP always made all kits tip if the main ones already tipped.

Then you should just run this final DCS version and call it quits.

Don't put yourself through another Group Buy where they are just not interested anymore, take a holiday from this place and find something else that excites you and your partner rather than having this place fill all your available time for nothing.
