I think that's a great idea. It meets both the requirements of:

- KeyCon not held in that location the previous year
- Local person(s) to coordinate venue

I forget that people actually visit Florida just for the theme parks. That's a great suggestion!

OH MY GOD THIS IS THE ONLY REASON I WOULD GO TO FLORIDA (even though the Hollywood one just opened by us)
but everyone going after KeyCon together would be wayyyyyy too much fun!

I would be willing to be involved in helping organize the meet-up in SoCal, but I highly highly doubt there are enough people to do that. It sounds like Chicago and Austin are being mentioned a lot. Vegas seems reasonable as well.

If I might offer a suggestion: expand the poll to include the names of the areas included in "Other" if possible. It might be useful to give people an idea of which locations are gaining traction. Or give them ideas about convenient locations they haven't thought of. Personally, I'm still for Chicago, but it'd be fair either way.

The problem is that none of the "other" locations have volunteers to organize the actual event.  :-/  Until people step up to help organize, we only really have the four options.

I've talked to i3oilermaker and if there is actual interest we can start working on planning a Chicago Keycon. Honestly at this point this thread really isn't getting anywhere.

Chicago is the easier option, I feel.  Discussion is taking place to gauge feasibility and likelihood of Chicago vs Nashville, so stay tuned.

What about Atlanta? It seems like a more sensible option than Nashville.

The airport gives ppl many options. No need to rent a car after flying in. Tons of hotels and convention centers. Awesome city and weather.

Problem with Nashville is it isn't connected to a major airport (Like Chicago, San Francisco, LA) so it makes it harder/more expensive for people traveling in from other locations. Just something to keep in mind.

I like Headquarters in Chicago a lot of different machines maybe none that are rare but its still fun and all the machines are free and the beer selection is quite nice. It is sometimes quite crowded though...
