Alright, I don't know what prompted any of this, but it does not belong in this thread.  If there's a beef with the GB organizer failing to deliver previous promises that you want to bring to light due to relevance with running a GB, that's one thing, and should be handled by the customer in question.  All other topics brought up thus far do not seem to be relevant and are threadcrapping.  Any further posts of this nature will be removed if the OP requests it, and offenders may be warned.

So, what manufacturer ended up producing the case? It could be a great resource for US based projects having a manufacturer with experience in custom keyboard cases. I'm sure many would appreciate the info!

Unfortunately I can't reveal who the manufacturer is.  They have been already gracious enough to accept such a strange order and I would hate for them to get flooded with half serious requests from the keyboard community. If anyone would really like to use the same shop they can contact me and maybe we can partner up to get it made!

Alright why don't you leave that up to ninjadoc, who did the searching for you, to decide.

I'll ignore your rather aggressive tone, since I'm not sure what about that statement made you so angry.

I think it's rather fair for me to ask that people for now lay off this shop that for all intensive purposes doesn't do productions runs his small regularly. If you have a problem with that you can talk to me directly, cause I don't need Ninjadoc to know what constitutes a sound decision for the sanity of everyone involved.

As a friend of ninjadoc who talked to him quite often, I feel you don't respect what exactly he has done for you. Rather then "partner" up to make more money off of people, why don't you stick to your word like assembling hwoods board instead of delaying it for two weeks without even messaging him, rather then pretending to be a saint, why don't you just pay respects to who they are due, rather then pretend nothing can happen without you. Aggressive tone? Why don't you be more thankful that he found the place for you rather then monetizing it?

What the **** is happening in here?
First off, what the hell does Hwood's keyboard have to do with the organization of this group buy? That is an entirely separate matter.
Hubble did indeed credit Ninjadoc by having his name engraved on the Mira weights as well as printed on the letters. I don't know how else he was repaid, however I know that other contributors such as Zeal and I have been treated more than fairly by DrHubblePhD.
I find it amusing how you chastise Hubble for his "unfair" gratitude of Ninjadoc while not showing recognition for Hubble's work.
In what way is he pretending that nothing can happen without Hubble? It's blatantly obvious that this would not have existed in the first place without his work.
It is without question in poor taste to scorn someone for monetizing their own work; this is what seems to be happening here.
You have no idea how much time and effort this man has put into this project. Do you really expect him to do this for free?
For god's sake you can at least show some gratitude for one's efforts by giving them your patronage.
1000th comment!

Well on a more positive note, I bit the bullet and bought into the hype swag. I could really use a nice new jumper and tee.

Hopefully teespring delivers good products, looks like they will.

By the way, minimum HAS been reached for anyone who was waiting to order until then.

Still not in my possession, but it looks like our contact likes the look of the Mira on his desk  :))

Hasn't been anodized or anything but it already looks great.  Let me know what you think about just getting a clear coat on the proto since it was going to be anodized silver anyways :p

Makes the bottom row

1.5u - blocker - 1.5u - 7u - 1.5u - blocker - 1.5u

If I'm not mistaken

So you'd have to get, what.. A Tsangan kit, so you can get those keys

Looks like there is from the plate and PCB, the prototype case just had to be one or the other.

Re: new pictures--very niiice!

Do you mean clear powdercoating for clear coat?  Not anodizing?  If you are trying to save money, that could work, although anodizing would be overall neater and more durable.  Plus you'd preserve that nice satiny cool metal feel.  Is this the case you'll end up keeping for yourself or are you going after Case #1?  If the former, you should decide what you want yourself :)

P.S.: I've been staring at various anodizing dye colors.  I keep thinking about something like rose gold or light shade of cold reddish brown (kind of like muted copper without a strong orange shade).  Something neutral and light that will go with a lot of sets but is not a silver, a gray, a black, or a bright saturated neon color.

Shots are looking good. Excited to see a fit check of the PCB and plate. And getting bummed that I won't be able to pick one up.

I've complied all the posts with pictures so far. Would be great to see these in the 2nd post instead of scattered in the ends of the thread.

Clear anodizing would be anodizing and not using any color dye.  So yes, in that respect.  A basic silver anodized surface.

Not yet, this is the latest update I saw:

Doc are the estimate still more or less accurate to what the final cost will be $400ish as I have check and can get this but just wanted to check it's still looking around that price :) if so am I okay just to plop a preorder still for one of the non 57 ones
I am going to call them on Monday to talk to them about that.  Last time I mentioned my target price they told me it was likely that I would hit it.

I asked my contact about pricing and he said he really needed to crunch some numbers to come up with an accurate figure. What I can say though is that he knows my target price is $400 including the cost for me to offer the PCB and stabs and he thinks we can make it work. So what I am willing to say, for anyone on the fence is that the MAXIMUM PRICE, meaning I expect to come in under this number, will be $440-450. I think anywhere between $400 and $420 is a reasonable estimate given the costs. Again, I am hardly making anything here, so what your getting from me is essentially the BOM cost which is non-negotiable, since I have no plan of losing money from this buy.

Totally reasonable on the cost end. Great looking keyboard, not sure I can jump on this since I just got a GON (will definitely have to consider selling though).

I'm in it to win it!  Well, I hope it's under $450 :)  I'll probably have to sell one of my current keyboards and/or keysets to fund Mira, but that's ok!

If you ain't first, you're last.

Hubble, do you have a better idea of the assortment of colors you'll likely offer or is that all still up in the air?

I think given the order count there should be no problem getting at least 3 colors produced. That said, I think silver is the perfect color already  :))

Ill likely take another poll after I receive the board anodized to see what colors people want having seeing the proto.

Awesome proto pics! That curve came out awesome. I'd love to see the machining setup used for that bottom plate.

I obviously don't have your answer, but just pointing out that the case wasn't cast but milled. This actually matters for strength and precision.

Will there be an option to get an un-finished version that isn't anodized?
